Posting rules:

NSFW: NSFW content is permitted but it must be tagged and have content warnings. Anything that doesn't adhere to this will be removed. Content warnings should be added like: [penis], [explicit description of sex]. Non-sexualized breasts of any gender are not considered inappropriate and therefore do not need to be blurred/tagged.

MODERATORS

Heads up, We are mostly moving this community over to Lemmy.world. If you're wondering where most of the funny went, go to !196@lemmy.world! If you're wondering why we did this, click here.

==please incorporate the word rule in your post titles==
Here are the things that get you banned:
-saying anything remotely iffy with a lemmygrad or hexbear account
-tankie behaviour
-nazi behaviour
-authoritarian behaviour
-genocide denial
-prejudice of any kind
-anything else that is clearly bad

Things that get your post/comment removed:
-AI generated content
-anything in the banlist
-posts that are so off topic that they don't fit on 196 at all
-moldy memes (old memes, crusty memes, irrelevant memes. The type of things you'd see on your aunt's Facebook page or Elon musk's Twitter account with a laughing emoji as the caption)
-corpoposting

Ban length varies, and is mostly based off of whether or not I think you will change your behavior. I have baned certain people for upwards of 2000 days.

---------EDIT:NSFW RULES---------
NSFW Content is now fully permitted BUT it must be tagged. Any NSFW content that has not been tagged and blurred will be removed. Content warnings should also be added to the title in brackets. Example: [penis] or: [explicit description of sex].
Non-sexualized breasts of any gender are not considered inappropriate and therefore do not need to be blurred/tagged. Yes, even female breasts.

IRL GORE IS NOT PERMITTED UNDER ANY CONDITION.

JAN 2025 UPDATE: One Hundred Ninety Six
Following our mishandling of the lemmy.world migration, a group of dissenting users founded onehundredninteysix, here on lemmy.blahaj.zone. We are not affiliated with this group. Please direct any complaints related to that community to their mod team and/or Ada.

If you have any issues, please reach us at 196mods@protonmail.com. PLEASE do not dm me, as I am not consistently available and tend to step away from the mantle for weeks to months at a time.

Do I have to post an image? Is the OP's image an example of what to do or what not to do?

I’m curious to know more context abt the statement revolving around hexbear & lemmygrad? I’m very new to the fediverse so i don’t know much about these instances

Tankie pro-mao/stalin cesspools that ferment people in a powerful echo chamber. Basically hyper-reactionist toxic "leftists" looking for any excuse to stir up trouble

Ah yes, some good news today as well

Happy to see this community is starting off on the right foot

How tf do you upload images on mobile? I’m on iOS, I’ve tried Firefox and chrome and get errors on both when trying to upload

Hi! I don't want to break any rules so I'd like to ask first, what are the rules on self promotion? I was thinking of making a post about a 20-30 minute queer fishing game I made for this year's pride (this one to be specific) and thought it could be nice to share here but don't want to break a rule to do so.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago

It's allowed for now. If self promo becomes A problem, I'll hold another poll.

I've got a slight suggested edit

Basically the first item to get banned adding Hexbear to the list with Lemmygrad

I've been seeing a huge influx of tankie takes from hexbear accounts all over (and here) since they federated

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

My team is on it, and I will personally pitch in in dealing with it once auditions are over for the thing I'm working on

[–] Gormadt@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago

Thank you and I'm happy to hear it

IRL GORE IS NOT PERMITTED UNDER ANY CONDITION.

Finally an internet community of people that don't think it's funny if people die in horrible ways.

What is corpoposting? I am dumb baby

[–] P4ulin_Kbana@lemmy.eco.br 1 points 1 year ago

Hi Dumb Lady!

[–] VoidCrow@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Question is Lemmy.world affiliated with the tankies that made lemmygrad or is it separate? I didn't know about any of this prior so now I'm worried a bit

[–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I've been seeing more posts featuring companies, like this one.

I think there should be some rule about advertisement. We probably shouldn't ban all mentions of companies, but some limits should be in place.

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago

I have made a poll to see whether or not I should start removing posts like these

[–] jackalope@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What's the situation with the lemmy community now that the subreddit is back open?

[–] moss@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago

We're continuing on as normal

[–] OsrsNeedsF2P@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

iffy is not a common international english word and hard to understand for non-native English speakers

[–] princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s in the Oxford Dictionary and it’s definition is the first thing that comes up when you google it…

Not part of the community here just see you guys in All a lot, what is the reasoning behind having the word rule in all your posts? Just curious.
