Honestly all, and particularly if you're in the USA. Reach out to your friends, family, neighbors, community and make sure they are okay today. Check in with them, let them share their feelings. Today was and is pretty atrocious and honestly everybody could use a little more kindness in their lives. Although this past year has been one inexcusable atrocity after another, that doesn't make this any easier for anybody, and especially for people of color, many of whom have spent their entire lives dealing with this shit.

And also, keep in mind that this ape/monkey bullshit is nothing new with conservatives. I very distinctly remember being at a relative's house back in 2022 (give or take). They basically watched nothing but Fox News 24/7, so I had the wonderful experience of getting to watch the 5 o'clock news on that station. It was pure propaganda like we all expect and know. But I recall there being one segment dedicated to Democrats in congress where they played the audio from some kind of meeting with the Dem leadership, but the video feed was from a group of chimpanzees at a zoo.

This is nothing new. This is who they are.
