DB's new Probe BahnCard 25 Gold gives everybody free travel throughout Germany every time the German Team wins gold (yes, even 1st class) - offer ends 5th Feb (int.bahn.de)

This is such a crazy offer I had to come post about it.

It works like this:

  1. Buy the Probe BC25 Gold (20 euros for 2nd class, 40 euros for 1st class). Remember to cancel the BahnCard immediately after buying it! Don't bother with Probe BC50 unless you really need it.
  2. Pray that Germany wins gold. The German team have won 10+ golds for the past 3 winter Olympics so this is like the easiest lottery ever.
  3. The next day, get free travel everywhere in Germany when you show the Probe BC Gold. Yes, this includes ICE. No, it does not include trains not operated by DB (e.g. Flixtrain - I am confirming with DB whether trains with BC acceptance is included e.g. SBB) If anybody has any tips on getting push notifications for German wins please leave it below.

I asked DB on Instagram and they confirmed that if you get a 1st class Probe BE25 Gold, you can travel in 1st class for free the next day.

Offer ends 5th Feb so you're interested, get it now. If you're buying it today (4th Feb), you can set it to be valid on the 5th.

Also, remember to cancel the BahnCard immediately after buying it!
