Welcome to the community for Windows 11, Microsoft's latest computer operating system.

Backward compatibility can be kept, but also add the option to enable it and at least let File explorer support it.

Most users don't use ancient softwares.

I never got excited of any feature and specially the AI one.

I want to be able to see why I can't delete a file and which app is using it in the delete file dialog.

Implify day to day stuff.

The setting is a reg key and reboot away, has been for years

Lots of stuff today still chokes on long paths.

Sysinternals has had handle.exe since the mid-late 90's to see what's locking a file.

There multiple GUI tools for managing locked files depending on what you need:

File Assassin (uses windows own "delete on reboot" registry key)

FileExile

InUse

Unlocker

These are just the ones I keep on hand. I've used many others.
