How is everyone doing this evening? I'm sitting in bed drinking my medical food shake, listening to music, with a few #IncrementalGames idling, and maybe doing a bit of #Python practice on #Codecademy.
I'm not 100% yet, but I feel stronger than I've felt in a while. I don't particularly care for the taste of these shakes, but my mom and I are working on ways to improve them. It's also a relief not having to worry about whether food will stay down or whether I'm getting the nutrients I need.
I'm also still using and enjoying #FastSM for #Mastodon on #Windows. It's been working well for me so far.
Accessibility / tech note for fellow screen reader users:
If you use #NVDA with #MicrosoftEdge (and possibly #GoogleChrome) and have been dealing with freezes or heavy lag, especially when you have multiple tabs or web apps open, check whether you have the BrowserNav add-on installed. I was experiencing some pretty severe freezes, sometimes to the point where NVDA would become unresponsive for minutes. Disabling BrowserNav made a noticeable difference for me right away, including being able to keep more tabs open without issues.

I have shakes for when I don’t have the time or spoons for making food. Sometimes I throw some peanut butter or jam in there for flavor variety. That might work for you.

@RareBird15 @main @mastoblind Yeah I found the BrowserNav add-on to be very conflict prone with other add-on, and it's outright incompatible with Braille Extender.

@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind Oof, and I had both installed. That might help explain the freezes, lol.

@RareBird15 @main @mastoblind Yeah I removed BrowserNav rather quickly, found similar issues with the other Nav add-ons but not as significant, also Console Toolkit conflicted with at least one preset hotkey from Braille Extender, as did Markdown to Html Converter.

@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind Yeah, I'm probably about to remove IndentNav, the only other one I have installed, as I've seen some strange issues with it, particularly when using Visual Studio Code.

@RareBird15 @main @mastoblind You can assign vertically aligned paragraph within NVDA, I have it on Ing/shift+Ing (perkins 346/3467)

@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind I need to play with NVDA and Braille more. I haven't been using Braille as much since I got rheumatoid arthritis in my hands last year, but I want to use it more. Last time I tried it, though, Braille Extender didn't seem to have a keymap for my Braille display, the Brailliant BI 40X, so a lot of commands didn't have Braille equivalents, and I didn't have the energy to assign them all.

@RareBird15 @main @mastoblind That's what I use, along with the HW E-reader, I do not have my Orbit 20+ paired with anything right now.
