Is ReVanced and uBlock are a very secret thing? Why do people look for the VPN alternative, i dont get it.

Sometimes I like to watch on TV via set top box.
If it's Android: SmartTube
If it's Linux: get an Android container to run SmartTube
Otherwise: there are patches for the webviews on things like this sometimes (see: WebOS homebrew launcher). Or just get something that is one of the above.
I don't know shit about networking (I failed you, lemmy) but I wonder if you can install a vpn to your router now. I heard they are are often using linux inside?
Yes you can set up routers to route through a VPN, it's a pretty common thing
I don't know anything about any of these other than I would watch a lot more youtube if it had no ads. I'm gonna need a ublock for dummies manual.
Check out GL.iNet routers, they have this baked in the UI.
Literally every single normal fucking router has some sort of VPN client burned in from the factory by now (mine has a fucking server, even), and even if not it probably either has an OpenWRT port or is a worthless ISP piece of shit you are expected to use with another router alongside anyway. It's not 2012 when you (probably) had to follow a buildroot tutorial on YouTube by some Indian guy with Cygwin.
Damn, wish I knew this before I've been paying for YouTube premium for, like, since the beginning of when they first started extorting money out of us. I've had an active thriving YouTube account since 2005. I don't exactly remember when I first started paying them money, but I guess they implemented that frogs-slowly-boiling-in-a-pot-of-water tactic. I am a boiling frog.

If you have a vpn chances are you use revanced app or ublock with browser
Just updated my revanced version on my phone. Revanced life is good.
I'm a grayjay man but revanced is nice. There's also newpipe or you can just use Firefox mobile with uBlock origin :D
Do you cast to a TV? I've tried grayjay but I haven't been able to switch from Revanced because casting was so abysmal
I don't know what you get with Firefox mobile and extensions. Do you also get autoskip sponsors, background play, hide shorts etc?
How does this differ from just using an ad blocker though?
One thing that comes to mind is that if you're on iOS you unfortunately can't really run an adblocker on YouTube (sans running it in browser I guess), but you can easily use a VPN.
Also YouTube periodically tries to break adblocking. 99% of the time uBlock origin works, but this could be a backup if they ever succeed.
Oh and non-Android Smart TVs often don't have ad free YT apps available either. You can run those behind a VPN too.

It says delete a file, not a folder! Unfortunately, this means that deleting system32 doesn't count, so you need to find something else to delete
Hmm. I don't seem to be able to delete anything anymore. I'll reinstall, get the virus again, then delete something else.
Is it OK if I delete the banking account for my company, or would you rather have me forward it to you and delete some random dll files?
