Literally just a dual sense controller. Every feature works on Linux. Has a touch pad so you don't need a mouse or some weird toggle.

It's the perfect PC controller.

Yeah I just use an Xbox one controller with rechargeable batteries and it's flawless.

I use a Xbox controller and works perfectly with Linux.

The 8bitdo Pro 2 came with both a rechargeable battery pack and a battery holder for replaceable batteries. Works seamlessly with Linux and Steam via D-input. No personal experience with the Pro 3 to say how it differs.

Really like their controllers. My only complaint is that they would disconnect sometimes but that eventually stopped without me doing anything so I will blame windows on this one (which means it will work flawlessly on Linux no doubt). Great quality and amazing price.

my original Xbox One controller has been seamless with my Linux Mint setup, and it runs off of two AAs

ACKTCHUALLY the original Xbox One controller does not support bluetooth, that only happened with the controllers that were released after the Xbox One S/X.

you may be right; I never followed Xbox releases (not that microslop's naming convention helps)

all I know is I've had this controller since late 2018

I've got one of the original XBox One controllers, pre-bluetooth. It uses a dongle that is actually a 2.4Ghz wifi dongle. Linux defaults to seeing it as a wifi dongle unless the right packages are loaded. Quite a headache.

An Xbox controller. Probably not that hard to replace the batteries in 8bitdo controllers. 4 screws on the Ultimate 2C. I'm waiting for the new Steam Controller though pictures of it look like it may not have AA battery slots like the first one

I have an Xbox 360 controller that has been awesome, takes AA batteries.

my Xbox elite series 2 works a treat, just has to stay plugged in unless you wanna spend like 30$ on a dongle sold separately

Maybe a knock off wii pro controller? I dont think there really has ever been much demand for such a combination, it was simply cheaper to not include rechargable batteries 15 years ago.
