In such a scenario, the Canadian military envisions small groups of irregular fighters or armed civilians carrying out ambushes, sabotage or drone warfare, the Globe reported.

Those tactics could include so-called “hit-and-run” attacks involving improvised explosive devices, similar to those used by the Taliban in Afghanistan against the US and allied forces, including Canada.

Cool now please model hauling Trump away blindfolded and handcuffed in a Canadian ship

Stick him on the SS Minnow.

Yes, this has a name. Asymmetric warfare. Anyone at the other end of the US military has to engage in it at the present time and considering that the United States will likely vote a Trump 2.0 President down the road is what is driving a lot of these countries to begin ramping up domestic weapon production.

All this will do is take resources that have long since been something given to the people and redirect it to building weapons until the entire world is armed to the teeth and we are exactly where we were just before World War I. However, this will make those who profit from war even richer along the way and thus the people are robbed of a world we could of had of shared opportunity, just because some rich assholes in the United States wanted more money.

Time to start FPV drone training.... fuck you trump

[–] cheeseburger@piefed.ca 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Also some anti-drone 12 gauge training from Ukrainian experience. Good reason to get your PAL.

I will absolutely be doing everything in my power to do my civic duty of killing at least 8 American invaders before I am killed.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So would the government be handing out guns or what?

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

I have my own.

Canadians and guerilla warfare. Name a more iconic duo.

Canadians in war and the following new rules in the geneva convention

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm assuming this has been a regular practice for decades, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

Supposedly this is the first time it has been done im a century. It draws on learnings from Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Rambo: First Blood was filmed in Canada. Just saying.

Definitely feel like there is a reason on why ICE has pulled back on other liberal places and started to focus more on states that border Canada. Oregon, Minnesota, and from what I just read Maine is next.

Don't know if it's too goad those states into trying to succeed to Canada possibly causing a civil war and other states to follow suite and then using that to justify fighting Canada or it could involve getting more military on the border without raising too much suspicion but it definitely seems like a move that's modeled with some fucked up intent.

Who fucking knows....

This is a very normal exercise for any country to do for training when they have a neighbour state.

[–] Datto313@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

I came to post that we’ve been doing that since I was a kid, we’ve even war gamed the idea with the Americans. We have a lot of hidden military infrastructure too.

[–] engene@piefed.ca 5 points 1 month ago

I don’t think there’ll be any problem drafting. Keeping those less qualified away will be the biggest issue. 🇨🇦💪

[–] Raglesnarf@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

do it Canada, I dare you!!

(no but seriously please invade us, this orange dude is nuts)

[–] Headofthebored@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I don't think there needs to be an invasion. A dude managed to break a window at the vice president's house recently. He was armed only with a hammer. I'll let you use your imagination what a single person with more serious equipment might be capable of pulling off.

[–] Bubbaonthebeach@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

It's pretty much the only country we've ever had to worry might one day attack us.

Then they are foolish:

Trump "NEEDS" to own Canada, the same way that Putin "NEEDS" to own Ukraina.

His "51st State" shit isn't a joke: it's lethal threat, with makeup on.

WITH Greenland, he can snuff our lifeline to the EU, which is the REAL reason he "NEEDS" Greenland.

Trump is going to be doing to Canada what Putin's been doing to Ukraina, shortly.

I expect 100's of millions to die, on this continent, in Trump's, then later Musk's, triple-war:

  • northward, enforcing his annexation of Canada
  • Civil War 2: confederate reverse-takeover & vengeance
  • southward, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, EVERYthing,

until he owns it all, & nobody is left alive ( competitive-nihilism combined with competitive-narcissism ).

Nobody'll accept the evidence, though, so ..

.. like people who reject that the rumbling in the rails could POSSIBLY mean that there's a train coming .. everybody's getting splatted, it looks like.

sigh

I guess it's possible to use enduring this world's demise .. as a means of enforcing that NEXT time my Soul gets caught in a life, .. it has some fscking brains & responsibility about it, unlike this-time!

Not enough. I think you should invade Michigan and take the Great Lakes for practice. I want to watch Trump doom our navy in Lake Superior so bad we get new folk songs out of it.
