...oh yeah, this is deffo the dude the DNC is gonna shove down our throats

[–] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Then we’re going to have to listen to the dopes saying “how do you like it now non-voters??????”
This plus anti transgender plus the blatant hypocrisy. I just hope we have decent primaries. If we get to have primaries anyway…

No, the “dopes” are right. If you refuse to vote against the worst presidents in history because the other person wasn’t good enough, you’re a fucking moron and you deserve what you get.

It is 100% your fault if you refuse to vote.

I can’t imagine being a major reason Trump got elected and still thinking I’m right. Fuck.

Hurrr durr there were just no good candidates to vote for, against the worst president in U.S. history! Whatever can I do??

Legitimately, how fucking stupid are you? And you call other people “dopes.”

I know you will never admit to it because you think you’re too smart (look at the incredible amount of text wasted below laying 100% of the blame on the DNC), but you’re all the problem.

Trump voters and non-voters are equally at fault. Non-voters voted for Trump, so enjoy your candidate!

It's a lose-lose scenario innit. Don't vote, give tacit support for growing fascism, vote, give tacit approval for the DNCs continuous onslaught of dogshit candidates who will do nothing to fight growing fascism or improve the material conditions for Americans.

None of it matters if you don't live in a battleground state, to be fair. If you're in a firm blue or red state, your vote simply doesn't matter.

It’s lose-lose but it’s painfully obvious one loss is worse than the other.

Too many people let perfect be the enemy of good, and that’s why they keep making it worse.

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yup. Lose big fast or lose big slow. It's politics, baby, you'll never win, that's for rich people only.

[–] calliope@retrolemmy.com 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Slow. Slow has always been the better choice.

Oh I’m going to delete all the rest of these comments because they’re just getting petty downvoted!

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yup. And the DNC will take advantage of that fear to put forth candidates who will maintain the new status quo and fix nothing. The RNC will capitalize on the voter apathy and disconnect the DNC manufacturers and push the country further right.

Repeat ad nauseum. There's no solving this via elections, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't participate in it.

Kicking the can down the road is not a solution. The Democrats keep running dog shit centrist candidates that alienate their base and are blown away when they keep loosing elections.

Oh I meant to block you the other day for the other stupid things you said!

You’re the one who is advocating for violence against the government while… not doing anything.

I'm ready once the crack downs hit my Midwest town. You on the other hand are happy to be civil while the government disappears everyone around tou

Do you feel better? Did your rant change anything? Do you think you’ll win people to your cause by insulting them?

Did the non-voters that voted for Trump also vote for Kamala? I mean that’s what it would be if you were a Trump supporter right? You can’t have it both ways Marie. Maybe the Dems could even run on something that’s good for us poors and encourage us to vote for them instead of FUCKING ALWAYS being the LeSsOr oF TwO eVilS.

I live in a blue state and voted for Biden lite. It doesn’t matter who I vote for because the state is blue. Still voted. Still got sweet potato hitler.

Maybe the DNC will get their shit together before it’s too late. But they’ll probably run a dipshit like Kamala or Gavin again and get their asses handed to them. Evidence of this is plenty, but even now the vast majority of the Dems are quiet. They could be running opo like the MAGAts were, but nooooo…. Let’s just keep being nice and see how it goes.

I sincerely hope I’m wrong and someone like Mamdani, AOC, Katie Porter, Stacy Abrams, etc. arrives to fix it. It just doesn’t seem like that’s gonna happen.

Do you think you’ll win people

Do you think you deserve to be won over? Is that something you feel you're entitled to? Why do we have to win people over instead of simply asking them to employ critical thinking to make the best realistic decisions? Because they're dumb and need to be coddled?

Did the non-voters that voted for Trump also vote for Kamala?

Not voting and inadvertently helping the worst possible candidate is not the same as not voting and inadvertently helping the not worst possible candidate. You're simply saying "I could care less whether we're in a bad situation or a really, really bad situation", which is objectively childish and stupid.

Maybe the Dems could even run on something that’s good for us poors

Spoken like someone who pays absolutely no attention to anything of substance. I recommend you devote some of your very precious time into reviewing the voting history of both parties. You will quickly see a pattern of Dems consistently voting for bills that help middle/lower class Americans and Republicans almost never doing so. If you had actually paid attention during Biden's presidency, you would know this was also the case during his term. A wave of legislation meant to help average Americans. Again, utilize your time actually looking this stuff up instead of posting garbage comments on social media.

You need to understand that the Dems you mentioned as ideal candidates may simply not be able to win. People constantly complain about Bernie being shafted, but the bottom line is he lost the popular vote in the primaries. He wasn't as popular in reality as he was online.

It sounds like you "swallowed your pride" and voted Kamala. Great. You don't deserve an award. That was basic common sense. I guess just be glad you have that when so many others do not.

Dude, you’re toxic as all get out. Keep ridiculing folks. That’ll work! Enjoy Trump 3.0/JV Dunce in 2028.

Blocked.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Then we’re going to have to listen to the dopes saying “how do you like it now non-voters???”

A bad candidate is not an excuse to allow the worst possible candidate to have the keys to the kingdom.

If you didn't vote or voted 3rd party in 2024, you contributed to our current situation.

All you need to know about him being a bad dude.

There goes your presidential aspirations.

[–] ghen@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Californians weren't worried. They knew he'd fuck it up before getting even close to the elections.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

Fuck you, Newsom

How much are they paying you Gavin?!
