My All Feed is basically empty now or consists of posts with zero or very few comments. I love the filter option, but it has also made it quite clear what is being pushed the most on Lemmy.
Yeah just some of the most important world events going on. Odd how people talk about that stuff.
Sure, but i've just reached a point where I don't want to get bummed out, everytime I open a social media app.
There must be positive things to talk about, and not just the enshittification of everything and the end of the world.
All I ever hear off of here is about every mundane dull thing. Most people don't give a flying fuck about the state of world, it's distressing really. People are dying, rights are being lost, the planet's fucked, genocide is going on but people are more interested in TV shows and other distractions.
I definitely get that! And it is definitely an issue. Personally, I feel like the state of the world is constantly knocking on my door. It's almost claustrophobic. I vote for parties and politicians I believe in, I try to avoid supporting the ones who try to fuck up our world by not using their products or buy them.
But besides that, I not sure what else I can do, and I'm definitely up for suggestions.

Yes, reading every horrible news article 24-7 is your MORAL DUTY and any attention to anything else, even if due to mental health concerns, makes you one of THEM and a BAD PERSON. Any distraction whatsoever is EVIL.
Have you considered the effect our emotional landscape has over our mental health, our effectiveness to pursue the world we want and the wellbeing of those around us? Sometimes people need distractions, friend.

Yeah people have been talking about having less and less activity on Lemmy.
IMO it’s because of the content. The platform works flawlessly but unfortunately lemmy came about during a time that politics is being so pervasive.
It might be a general trend. I’m willing to bet all social media is slowly dying but the for profits inject bots to keep their numbers up.
Along with your list, I have also blocked these communities. This is half list.

It's impossible because Trump keeps doing things it can still be 3:00 in the morning over there and he'll do something. All Europe seems to have is the Germans, and they keep posting in their weird secret language.

There's a difference.
Kings are born royalty. This jackass got elected. We CHOOSE him. This is OUR fault. Whereas with kings, nobody chooses them. They're just born into that role.
I don't think we did though. Before even one vote was counted he was bragging that the results don't matter because he has all the votes he needs. He literally announced that he'd rigged an election and nobody did anything about it.

The US is like turning on a morning soap opera. What absurd and dramatic contrivances have they come up with this time that could never happen in real life?
I assume it's because the life in Europe is better so people don't need to escape their reality as much. You can go out and see a cool castle or ride a train or go check out a new country. And then you can get really, really, really good food that won't give you diarrhea like the food here in the US.
You misunderstand, riding trains increases the amount of shitposting capacity one has.

Alright then. I have not been following much, ironically. I think America is of course, trying to meddle in our oil refinery deal, after putting sanctions on our refinery (which was partially owned by Russia).
I am secretly very happy about the refinery problems...anyway, it starts work again 23th January.
There were warnings that we would not be able to recieve pay on our credit cards (no transfers) or something like that as well.
Caused me to withdraw all my cash.
