"Monkeys of unknown origin" band name or something

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 months ago

One of 'em has to be named Louis, for the nod. Hell, Uncle Louis, if you're feeling spicy.

A couple of searches indicate that the name is up for grabs.

Is it Indy? Metal? Grind core? Pop?

I have no idea.

GOD CAN NOT SAVE YOU

(and, as history shows, will not)

God saves everyone who dies from the horrors of living.

Uh... he's the one doing the killing and the giving of life in the first place, though... 🤢

Allegedly, mind you.

I've always wished we had monkeys in North America above the jungle

[–] brutalist@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

There's a shit load of rhesus macaques in Florida.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

That's good. We should get some of those Hokkaido snow monkeys and drop them off in Idaho though. Is this ecologically a good idea? Absolutely not. But it would make the place more interesting

Isn't North America entirely "above the jungle"?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

No, Mexico has jungle at the bottom, and some would describe everything north of the Darien gap as North America. It's just not uncommon to treat Central America as something different

Fair point. Sorry about that, but thank you for edifying! 🥰🤘🏼

Yeah it's totally a common thing to not know. Especially us USians tend to think of Mexico as the northern deserts and central plateaus because that's what's close to us and where their capital is.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 5 months ago

You know what, this is the least stupid thing to happen in the US in years. Obviously they've escaped from some private collection and someone is keeping quiet about it hoping that they don't get in trouble.

I can't think of a better job for ICE.

  1. the racist fucks already think of brown people as simians so they won't notice
  2. the monkeys have no resident status
  3. they need to be stored in horribly small cages until they are shipped 'home' or - oops - die.

This task has 'ICE gestapo' written all over it.
