1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

Also, I totally read that as "oilyboi", which would be a great food name.

So I had to wiki them. I'm from Louisiana, have you ever had beignets?

Wiki says there's a version known as beignets rapides, as well as croustillons and croustillons hollandais.

Beignets aren't ever filled, at least none that I've ever had, but they are covered with powder sugar like a snow drift. Nothing like a fried dough sugar rush to get you going.

Now I want to make some with fruit filling. Thanks!

We stayed at a place around the corner from Loretta's. Those beignets were so good. Our table basically looked like Tony Montana's desk after breakfast.

Totally thought this was a typo of "edible" at first lol. I was like oh jeez, that's a lot, and that typo is so bad that it does seem like 7 edibles deep.

Seven? You were staying near a defibrillator, right? If I were to eat any fried pastries, I would eat apple beignets. When my grandmother was still alive, she used to make them herself. Those were delicious.

There is one 1500 meters down the road, but that won't be of any use i'd guess.

I'll bet she poured a little rum in it (a common 'secret' ingredient. The alcohol will evaporate in the process)

These have so many varied and interesting names! Lard spheres, fried mice, Dutch crispies, babies, messed up Saint Sylvester’s, dreams, puff puff, love balls…

You could see all of those on a menu and assume they’re all different! 1 of everything please.
