How about they just release it all. At this point I don't think there's a single victim that would rather be "protected" by this DOJ.

Depends on the images involved I suppose. And don't underestimate the public's tenacity in hounding people whose names are publicly known.

It's fairly safe to assume that everyone named in the files, victim or not, will receive death threats.

Congress should have appointed a special master when they passed the law. Trump doesn't respect agency independence so the only real way to have people generally trust what's released is an outside independent review process that Trump has no power over.
