Little bit of both.

At first you lie to yourself and think you'll get by fine with a knife and fork. After struggling through maneuvering a bite or two into your food hole you realise that as you're already covered in chilli you may as well go full gremlin and just force your face onto what looks like a very delicious addition to an imminent heart attack.
