Like, that's awful for her, but I can't imagine in a million years filming myself crying and sharing something like that on twitter or whatever. That's wild.

Why? It's a funny song about her shitty ex and the situation she was in, are we meant to be ashamed that people cry or something when bad things happen?

I wish more people showed themselves crying for the world to see.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 month ago

Where did I say she should be ashamed or not cry?

[–] Kryptkravler@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

Didn't she notice his green 2D alien face at any point?

[–] dontsayaword@piefed.social 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is sad. Hope she ended up ok

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (2 children)

She went on dates with 34 dudes this year. Eight of them got follow up dates. Two of those dudes started seriously dating someone after they went out. She seems to be far enough away from it to find a little humor in it or at least is using it to try to launch a successful music career. And good for her for turning lemons into lemme tell you about my music.

"You drunk son of a bitch, how could you possibly know that? She's made of neither whiskey nor tacos!" you might ask. My FWB follows her on insta. We were sitting together before Christmas and she watched the video where she did her "2025 dating wrapped".

That's way more info than I expected lol, thanks!

[–] CarrierLost@infosec.pub 4 points 1 month ago

Dude same. I need this Texas Drunk to give me “Where are they now” recaps of all the internet drama.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How long were they in Texas before the break up?

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You have reached the end of my information on the matter. If I remember to ask my friend when I see her later this week I'll report back, but no promises. I am a drunk, after all.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Cheers and happy new year!

Ex co worker had a similar story with a few worse differences, they were engaged and had been together for 10 years. She broke up with him sitting at their kitchen table with still unpacked boxes around them and then slept with some dude that night. He also now lives in a different part of the country with his parents. Never give up your life to move back to your partners hometown I guess?

From Texas

The warning signs were there, she just ignored them

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Idk, I moved to Texas to be with my wife early in our relationship from Ohio. Went fluidly, mostly. I really think its a coin flip, or being having firmer locational roots. I wouldn't have left all of that behind like she did. Like naw, fuck that life is more than just your partner, even post marriage.

All that being said, its always hard to tell who a person really is, until they finally mask off one day. Either that or she had poor judgement in people. Sad either way, fucking rough way to learn a lesson.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ohio? Texas? What's the difference? Both are full of rednecks and racists (but I repeat myself). Like, no duh, it went fluidly... You hardly "moved". No cultural change, nothing to adjust to.

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Damn I guess im a racist for marrying a Hispanic girl. Wow, thanks for informing me!

[–] Draegur@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Men clearly aren't lonely enough when they take partnership for granted like this sack of shit did.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's a human behavior not exclusive to one gender.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

Might be a bias for Texans who’s families are sus of “outsiders” though.

[–] sartalon@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My wife pulled this shit on me.

It's still too soon.

Deleted Facebook, seeing a therapist (which is helping a lot) and trying to be a good coparent.

[–] zer0squar3d@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago

No worries. Good luck on your journey! Wish you the best!

[–] RePsyche@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Not TX boy, that much is for sure. Gah!

[–] Aussieiuszko@aussie.zone 2 points 1 month ago

So if a rich man has a lot of money, there are no poor men?

[–] Bubbaonthebeach@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 month ago

He wanted a woman to move to Texas. The biggest red flag possible right there.

[–] belated_frog_pants@beehaw.org 6 points 1 month ago

wants to move to Texas

She should have left him then.

[–] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

So she moved all their stuff to Texas and she only took one carload of stuff to Florida. I hope that half of anything they bought together was paid out to her to get her started in Florida.

[–] RagnarokOnline@programming.dev 3 points 1 month ago

Such a goodie. I always stop to listen when I see this one
