I had cheesecake for breakfast today

You're living the dream!

I still think we should do a calendar reform to get 12 months of 30 days each.
360 days total.
The remaining 5 days of the year have no name and aren't part of any month.

What nonsense. 13 months of 4 weeks each, with one or two days left over as end of year celebration days is the obvious choice.

Fun fact: back in the early days of Roman legend the calendar had ten months and they just sort of suspended it over winter and started again in the spring. This is also why September, October, November and December are in the wrong places, numerically speaking: they used to actually be the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th months before Ianuarius and Februarius got added.

I mean… that would require being awake at 10am so its a no for me.

We're in the festive perineum, and all we can do is drink and eat snacks.

I just saw it referred to as "chrimbo limbo" on the TV

Not sure I'm on board with that

Apparently it comes from the old English word "betwixt" (between) so thus "Twixtmas" or "Twixmas"

[–] HermitBee@feddit.uk 1 points 1 day ago

I've only ever heard the full "betwixtmas".

Oh I like that, thanks for the knowledge

If you never stop drinking, there are no pesky questions about when to start.

[–] JASN_DE@feddit.org 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In Germany it's colloquially known as "between the years"

[–] schmorpel@slrpnk.net 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's also called "Rauhnächte" - the Wild Hunt is out and about, and the veil to the spirit world is very light. That might explain the feeling confused and urge to drink.

Wo denn das? Hab das noch nie im real life so gehört.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So far my primary diet is pie and peppermint flavored alcohol.

[–] HermitBee@feddit.uk 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why would anyone want their alcohol to taste like pie and peppermint?

[–] XTL@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Variety and the illusion of freshness.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

I didn't say pie flavored alcohol but now that you've mentioned it that sounds interesting too.
