Goodness help us all. I feel her anger. Also afaics it's pretty clear they took the groceries for themselves. And again, thanks for filming, taking note of the person's identity and the goons' plates.
THE POLICE PROBLEM
The police problem is that police are policed by the police. Cops are accountable only to other cops, which is no accountability at all.
99.9999% of police brutality, corruption, and misconduct is never investigated, never punished, never makes the news, so it's not on this page.
When cops are caught breaking the law, they're investigated by other cops. Details are kept quiet, the officers' names are withheld from public knowledge, and what info is eventually released is only what police choose to release — often nothing at all.
When police are fired — which is all too rare — they leave with 'law enforcement experience' and can easily find work in another police department nearby. It's called "Wandering Cops."
When police testify under oath, they lie so frequently that cops themselves have a joking term for it: "testilying." Yet it's almost unheard of for police to be punished or prosecuted for perjury.
Cops can and do get away with lawlessness, because cops protect other cops. If they don't, they aren't cops for long.
The legal doctrine of "qualified immunity" renders police officers invulnerable to lawsuits for almost anything they do. In practice, getting past 'qualified immunity' is so unlikely, it makes headlines when it happens.
All this is a path to a police state.
In a free society, police must always be under serious and skeptical public oversight, with non-cops and non-cronies in charge, issuing genuine punishment when warranted.
Police who break the law must be prosecuted like anyone else, promptly fired if guilty, and barred from ever working in law-enforcement again.
That's the solution.

Our definition of ‘cops’ is broad, and includes prison guards, probation officers, shitty DAs and judges, etc — anyone who has the authority to fuck over people’s lives, with minimal or no oversight.

Also afaics it’s pretty clear they took the groceries for themselves
Especially considering they're known to leave property behind. You'll often find ICE abduct people on the road, then leave their car there and not even call a tow truck to pick it up later, or you'll find someone accidentally drops their bag while being arrested and they grab the person and drive off leaving their property behind.
But food... Now that's something those agents can eat, so now they are willing to spend the time to take it 🙄
The "Merry Christmas" is infuriating to hear from that cock-holster.
Believe you me, if that was my own husband, I'd be staking out where that truck went to, who was driving it and I'd be following that agent (sneakily) to his home to find out who he was and where he lived.. THEN be off to the nastiest, meanest lawyer I could find and have his name added to the lawsuits that are guaranteed to be coming down.
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Doxxing someone isn't the answer. Taking their pensions is.
lawsuits that are guaranteed to be coming down
laws are meaningless when no one enforces them
Oh, no doubt.. Nothing of consequence is gonna happen as long as the Orange Mangina is in the White House and the DOJ is being run by a power hungry harridan. Just got to wait until the power center crumbles under the weight of it's own corruption.
just curious--what makes you think it's going to crumble all by itself, after all the things they've said and done that should have ended the GOP as any kind of group capable of getting votes at this point, but didn't?
It's going to hit by the beginning of the year - once those ACA subsidies go away.
When MAGA's "meemaws and pawpaws" start to drop dead from not being able to afford their doctors or meds anymore, I forsee a ton of shattered lives and rage at the GOP.. even though the actual problem with the ACA was that the Democrats let the insurers write it - and I do recall Nancy Pelosi saying "Let's just sign the bill, we will read what's in it later.."
Ooooo, fuck us up the arse with a sanded fist, lady. And they have.
It was a 15 year long financial boondoggle for the insurance industry.
They've had obscene profits at the expense of the taxpayers while brokering poorly delivered medical "care" based on statistical fiat of averages and actuarial table data. (That, in and of itself, is a different issue that goes back decades and a topic for another day..)
I forsee a ton of shattered lives and rage at the GOP
the shattered lives are already here. been here since 2016.
but you're not recognizing how fucking cowed these people are. sure, there will be rage. but the rage won't be at the GOP, it'll be at the mexicans. the african americans. the LGBTQ, the women, the D voters, the non-christians--- take your pick. we're coming up on ~~TEN YEARS~~ fucking decades the GOP has been blaming literally every problem they cause on the very people who are trying to prevent those problems, and the R voters still lapping it all up like hogs at the trough
the mistake you're making is that, in thinking rationally, you're assuming that other people must think rationally too-- THEY DON'T
don't you remember covid and fox news saying something like "old people should go back to work to save the economy" -- and apparently people who watch fox news had zero problem with someone saying something as hilariously evil, wrong, stupid and infuckingsane as that.
i wish i had your unflappable (if misguided) optimism
happy new year
ICE agents aren't people so it's okay.
They broke the social contract, they deserve what comes unless they change their ways.
You write as if the US legal system is somehow functioning properly.
It's not now, that's for sure.
Not arguing, but I think I heard her saying "Are you the same guys who took my husband"
I am not from the US and understand very little of this ICE-shit in general. But who actually are these people? From the look on their clothes and body-shape they dont seem very fit or in some training YouTube. Is this random people that got a job as an agent or are they some kind of cops?
random people that got a job as an agent
This. Like cops for hire, only much, much worse. Shitty pay plus a (conditional?) one-time bonus to really lure them in and fuck them over. Not that I feel an iota of pity.
Almost every otherwise-unemployable alt-right wanker works for ICE now, it seems. Ex-cop with a drinking, violence or abuse problem? 😚👌 Just what we're looking for.
For this to become normal again, they all need to face legal justice.
I think that you guys should accept that it's not possible and therefore there's no return to normality. You (we all actually) will need to invent new normality
