I’ve been no added sugar for 2 months. One day of eating and I now feel like I’ve just participated in some kind of contest where the objective was to acquire diabetes.

8 years into no refined sugar, desert is nauseating.

Me at work when people talk about not working during the holidays.

Facts. I had a 12 hour day yesterday. I wish I was full of cheese, only full of sadness.

I tend to avoid being very festive until about a week before Christmas, then the week of and after I’m listening to Christmas music, watching classic movies and being festive

Epicurus says hi

Tap for spoilerEpicurus was a Greek philosopher who preached and founded a new hedonistic philosophy, Epicureanism. He was famous for loving cheese and indulging in it once in a while, so he'd be very happy about cheese!

[–] sockenklaus@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Yes, but what many people forget when they talk about hedonism is that while Epicurus described sensual pleasure as inherently conducive to happiness (in contrast to Aristotle, who placed meaningful work at the center), he simultaneously emphasized not becoming dependent on worldly needs.
