Several Russian state TV figures have praised Donald Trump's Cabinet picks, according to Daily Beast columnist and Russian media monitor Julia Davis.

Some hosts on Russian state television are apparently hyped about Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks. And their glee portends something ominous for the United States.

Julia Davis, a columnist for The Daily Beast who monitors Russian media, wrote this week about the various Russian media figures celebrating Trump’s picks to serve in his administration. For example, following Trump’s selection of MAGA conspiracy theorist Kash Patel to lead the FBI, she reported that one host — Vladimir Solovyov — shared a particularly grim prediction of what Patel and the other picks might mean for Americans.

“What an excellent team is coming along with Trump!” Solovyov said on his show Sunday, according to Davis’ report. “Not with respect to Ukraine, but as far as everything else goes. If they are allowed to get in, they will quickly dismantle America, brick by brick. They are so great!”

And I don't think the typical American is aware enough politically to be alarmed. Or in some cases able to do much without sacrificing what they have left. Which I guess is the point, do it now or let them take it from you later. We do like to procrastinate.

And it's not an accident they aren't aware. Media is captured and owned. Cannot ever hope to reach the normies without a fair media environment

Which should have been the internet, but that's gone downhill even before the addition of AI material.

Yes and it's because every new technological development only gives the bourgeoisie more opportunities to control and manipulate society to their whims, until the influence of capital is negated you won't be resolving the root issue.

Yes, but for the wrong reason: it's because America is going to look more and more like Russia. So, he is inadvertently admitting that Russia is already where America is going to be in the future.

its kinda why they helped install him

The article is from December 2024.

Hm. Prophetic, or "we throw shit around 24/7, this one actually stuck"?

I mean…. WE say that shit too, just not gleefully. Is that the difference? One’s level of happiness resulting from it?

And Russia really has no place to speak from:

They can’t even dismantle a country run by an ex-comedian- eve when they outnumber them in every category- and they are STILL getting their asses kicked.

At this point, I don’t think Russia is capable of kicking anyone’s ass outside of their own.

Alternate title:
Russian TV host has eyes and functioning brain, uses them both to state the obvious. More news at 11.

More like "Of the 1 million propaganda lies I have spouted, this one is pretty close to fact."

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Somebody like me got their monkey's paw wish.

Russian TV once again disproves how out of touch they are with the world by claiming Trump hasn't already done so.
