Idiocracy just assumes everyone smart died off and we're only left with idiots who don't know how to do anything. The majority of the people in the world of Idiocracy are, at worst, neutral.

That is not this world, there are far too many intelligent (and otherwise) malevolents acting against the best interest of the whole and for their own exclusive best interest.

I actually had this in like 2010 or so: I noticed, i exclusively use 8 programs on one PC. So I installed notion (a tiled tabbed window manager) that would keep the windows max size and tabbed and wrote a Java program to display a 3x3 button menu with those 8 programs + a shutdown button. I made it to autostart that menu program and used the PC like that for years.
