I'm with boomer. If you don't have sound, don't add any. You're not pianist and this is not a 1920s cinema.

I find it annoying when the editor (or possibly YT itself) adds a clip that requires the original sound to get what is going on and they cut out the audio or cover it up with some music. I have to assume it's a copyright strike workaround (or, again, YT just cutting it out automatically) but it's so fucking annoying, especially when the original clip didnt have music or anything it's just a couple people talking and making a joke.
Is this boomer? As an elder millennial I find the loud music over a distorted meme an absolute cancer.
I agree. 'Boomer take' is less restricted to the generation and more a generic 'old person yells at ' that anyone can develop.
It just so happens our generations are most familiar with folk in the boomer and Gen X range complaining about mundane things and actively interfering with joy and progress. Therefore they get the 'out of touch generation' award (regardless of anomalies)
It is possible that to the new generation we are interchangeable with boomers.
My sister in law's kids, Gen Z, have been calling me boomer since before I turned 40. To them it's just a word for an unfathomably old person, so 30+
Hey there’s a whole genX there to forget about!
It's the silent generation. 😔
Just confirms how stupid they are.
In this context it doesn't matter if boomers actually did something.
It's saying this is a situation that makes them react as a boomer typically would.
Which is basically how someone experiencing acute lead poisoning would react.
Kids born today have a fraction of the lead exposure, but compare them to hypothetical kids born 40 years from now, and there's going to be the same reduction in lead levels. So forty years from now and we'll still see older generations "acting boomer" about stuff.
That's just the timescale it takes after banning leaded gas in the 70s. All that lead was still coating everything and bouncing around the environment. And it was at such high levels that it going to take a very long time for shit to go back to normal.
Quick edit:
And in all likelihood new stuff like micro plastics in the brain are fucking up the kids too.
but compare them to hypothetical kids born 40 years from now, and there's going to be the same reduction in lead levels.
I wouldn't bet the farm on this one with the way things are headed.
this one works pretty good though

I heard that in my head

Cat activation sounds 🐈⬛✨
Not a boomer take, the music is obnoxious. And it's the same shit over and over.
TIL only boomers dislike annoying bullshit
You really think older people didn't see the things your generation enjoyed as annoying bullshit?
It's been a running joke for hundreds if not thousands of years. They're basically calling themselves the Principal Skinner "no, it's the kids who are wrong," meme.
....? You missed the point pretty hard. I'm pointing out specifically that the phenomenon has zero uniqueness to boomers.
These days "Boomer" in most contexts doesn't mean people born between 1946-64. It's basically synonymous with "old fuddy duddy" now.
People use it that way, but it will pass. I consider it a misuse of the term.
It's not though, because it's its own pejorative term. There's a difference between calling someone a Baby Boomer and calling someone a Boomer.
Also, you're literally being the Skinner meme.
