If I had to slap down some amount of cash I'll never be able to save to bet on which state would do this shit, it would have been Arkansas. No redeemable qualities in that state. Literal shithole. 50/50 ranking in US, etc etc.

I'm aware of at least one MAGA person with a kid who is like 10 and can't read.

And is exposed to all the garbage and domestic violence.
Teachers' classes are, sadly, full of such kids, there are many first-hand accounts out there over the past few years. It precedes COVID, but the pandemic definitely exacerbated it.
This is not nearly a MAGA-specific issue.

These people need to read and learn from sources that aren't Twitter/Facebook.
I'm not going to tell anyone that they're wrong. I will instead point to history, and the reasons these organisations exist. Compare the original concept to the current programming and I think you'll find that not much has changed about the purpose of their existence.
Whether your opinion agrees with the original, actual, and ongoing purpose of these organisations is completely irrelevant.
PBS isn’t perfect, but it’s publicly accountable and transparent—more than most for-profit networks.
