I think it’s only ever been used to troll/harass people.

I prefer my social media not to give a fuck & go full asshole. You can't buy that kind of integrity.
Pretending to care but not actually giving a shit outside of their legal liability is part of going full asshole.
I don't know: a full asshole lacks reservations about it & is shameless & unrepentant about it. That's an asshole you can trust.
I get where you're going, though: an insincere asshole is worse.
On further thought, maybe full is the wrong word: straight-up fits better.
When I was a mod, I would get these periodically. I just reported them and moved on.

I dont like Reddit either but the author is biased due to having a complete 180° falling out with a shit posting subreddit she used to praise and later threatened to sue.
She's one of the very few people I blocked over on Reddit due to the endless whinging and drama that followed her around. It's unfortunate that her content is following me to the Fediverse.

Just looked into it. I see what happened. I think it was shitty, not saying she was valid for it, but I think comparing that to "stalking, harassing, doxxing, and pushing people to suicide" is a big stretch. Did she stalk, harass, doxx, or push to suicide any of her perceived haters/harassers? It just seems like she only threatened DMCA action if a moderator allowed edits of her work. Which, again, isn't really a great thing, but saying she "is as bad as the people she's complaining about here" seems like a big stretch.
Yeahs the irony of her whining about Reddit while running to them to control the narrative of her dumb shit is delicious.
When I had a Reddit account I got flagged with this. It's as simple as getting reported by somebody you banned from a small sub.

Back when I had reddit I got these "a redditor thinks you're suicidal" all the time
And it was done by trolls who reported any trans Affirming posts as "suicidal"
And when I mass reported them back I was permabanned for abuse the report button
I want to also hijack this thread a bit to complain about how reddit will limit your posting for ten minutes if you get downvoted too much too fast. That happened to me the first time just because I said I didn't like skyrim in a thread OP explicitly asked our opinions on skyrim.
