Welcome to The Shitpost Office

Shitposts processed from 9 to 5, with occasional overtime on weekends.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not SinisterTreat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe

Rule 2: No Prohibited PostageSome packages are simply undeliverable. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW content must be properly tagged

If you see anything that violates these rules, please report it so we can return it to sender. Otherwise? Have fun, be silly, and enjoy the chaos. The office runs best when everyone’s laughing.... or retching over the stench, at least.

LPT: You can just add a + and an arbitrary text to your mail alias and it will still be received in the same mailbox.

shitass+randombla@domain.tld and shitass+lululu@domain.tld will both be delivered to shitass@domain.tld

It'd be low lift and inconsequential to make a registration system filter email aliases. Not saying Netflix does, because I don't use that piece of shit. I'm just saying, don't become reliant on this.

I use this for gmail to filter out spam. I used it for Best Buy and it worked online but when the cashier asked me for my email address the system didn't allow + signs in the email field.

When the cashier asks for my email address, I reply "no".

I usually don't but I had Best Buy rewards. And I would rather give my email than my phone number.

I've personally found it more reliable to purchase a domain, use an email host, and then set up a catch-all. Then you can just use best.buy@dot.com, netflix@dot.com, and so forth on the fly.

And then if necessary to combat spam, just set a sieve filter to turn off the faucet on whatever email you need to.

Not everyone can host their thing though

I mean, of course. However, if you can, this is what I've found works really well.

[–] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 2 points 1 week ago

Oh yeah, if you can than it's 10 time better

[–] frog@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago

Great idea. I already have a domain and I pay for hosting and email already.

Doesn't work for every provider, but I know it works on Gmail.

Is this free month Netflix trial in the room with us right now??

Meme looks to be unfortunately somewhat out of date by now...

Sadly, a lot of email address fields know this trick and won’t let you use an alias like that.
