When I was younger if you had holes in your jeans you weren’t cool, you were poor.

True denim doesn't stretch so tight was very uncomfortable. Fashion wanted tight jeans so they added spandex to the denim weave. Durability was sacrificed for butt-hugging.
I would sacrifice anything for some butt-hugging. 😭
Does that mean you'll go to the gym; stop eating so much junk food; take showers every day; keep your abode clean; go out of the house and talk to people in real life?

I do everything except the last thing. People are scary IRL.
Internet pro tip: Watch this video. Becoming socially curious is a game-changer for introverts.
Dr. Smithyman. The name sounds like a character from YA novel.
Nice video.
He's got a lot of good content.
The last is kinda the point of the prior actions.
Unless you want to seek professional help, you're going to have to meet folks
Professional help is given by people though
ChatGPT told me it's selfish of my friends to not want me to kill myself!
When it first came out, "Her" was edgy science fiction.
Now it's a Hallmark movie.
People who are being paid to be very, very, very, very nice...
Or so I am told...
Yes
Wrangler still makes cheap, basic jeans out of thicker denim.
Anyone else think $50 is a lot for a pair of 501s?
I have Levi's that are about 25 years old that I still wear. (Of course, I went through a few years when I was too fat to wear them, so they just hung in the closet till I lost the weight. But, they are that old, and I do wear them now.)
I vaguely remember reading about a 501 collectors market and how vintage Levis went for a pretty penny. Im guessing it wasn't 1995 vintage, though.
Looks longingly into closet

Used to be decent, anyways. Now the price has more than doubled in the last year, and it broke after a couple months for me. I then ordered a second pair and the same thing happened. Maybe there's a specific variant, or they sell different qualities to different markets?
When I was a teenager and used to listen to nu metal we used to be able to use my jeans as a sleeping bag - me in one leg and my girlfriend in the other leg.
weird shapes
There's a particular style of pants I've seen in more recent years that always gives the impression that the person wearing them has a loaded diaper underneath due to how the crotch seam hangs way below the actual crotch.
Löded Diper
Tractor supply has some of the best rated durable jeans, and they're some of the cheapest
Too bad they are a MAGA company
Oh dang I didnt know that
Yeah but then you're supporting insurrectionists and pedophiles.
Yes, but they have a great January 6th sale: Boys pants half off!
Costco has a more limited selection but still cheap and durable. I’ve got a couple pairs that are older than my kids.
Curious if that’s still true since you presumably bought those jeans many years ago. I only recently got Kirkland jeans and I’m skeptical they’ll last.
As my weight went up and down I had to buy more over the years and they seem just as good now as they were.
And I used them hard. Farm work, car repairs, construction, etc. and they just got better with age.
Ugh, so hard to find a decent pair of boot cut jeans that aren't as thin as high tech hiking pants and are comfortable.
Those jeans are not from 100 years ago
I get my clothes from the thrift store. Sadly, even that's getting more expensive. Used to be could get jeans for $5 and now it's more like $20
Anyone got any recommendations for jeans with a button fly? (That isn't the Levi 501 because it doesn't fit me well)
Naked and Famous denim. Lots of different cuts available.
Basically anything on Franklin & Poe's website. Or call them and they will geek out about denim to you over the phone
When I was in 7th or 8th grade, I put a pair of Levi's silver tab jeans in the shopping cart with my mom, didn't know the price. Got up front to checkout and they were around $45. My eyes almost popped out of my head, I don't remember spending that kind of money on clothes. Looked at my mom, she said to get them reluctantly. I felt so bad, I made those pants last for almost 10 years, all through highschool before they turned in my housework/car repair pants.
You can still get decent levis for $50 or so, but quality has definitely gone down a bit.
Levis still makes those jeans, but they're really expensive.
And they suck
/Shrug
The Perfect Jeans are great.
I’m not saying to do the thing where you only put them in the freezer like a lunatic, but washing them much and wrong doesn’t help.
