The Department of Defense on Monday said it is launching a "thorough review" into Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, citing "serious allegations of misconduct."

The announcement comes days after Donald Trump accused Kelly and other Democratic lawmakers of "seditious behavior" for a video in which they said that U.S. service members could refuse illegal orders.

In a statement posted to X, the Department of Defense said it "received serious allegations of misconduct" against Kelly, who is a retired U.S. Navy captain.

They should try finding an inexperienced lawyer who is willing to do anything for Trump, and then promptly embarrass themselves in front of the judge and news media. It's going so well with Comey.

Edit: lol, I posted this just before reading that the indictments against Comey and James have been dismissed due to the prosecutor being improperly appointed.

Imagine being investigated for sedition because you had the "audacity" to reiterate day 1 lessons from boot camp just in case any service members forgot...

Why wasn't Trump arrested for sedition in 2021?

For real. The democrats were also sitting on a mountain of evidence that he raped and trafficked kids. They also knew Putin had blackmail pictures of him. Why isn’t he in prison? Why aren’t ivanka and jared in prison for violating the emoluments clause and all their other self serving crimes? Is it maybe because Israel owns our politicians and Netanyahu likes pedo Antoinette? Whatever it is the democrats could have stopped this but chose not to.

The misconduct: telling people not to do illegal shit

I don’t think a bullshit investigation of a high profile, decorated veteran is going to go as well for the fascists as they think it’s going to.

Going after Senator Kelly? That will really mess with the mutant rights agenda

Mark Kelly: "You can launch thorough review of deez nuts."

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

I'm sure you'll find him a better man than most of you and the boss you serve, but don't let that stop your fascist desires.

I dunno about you, but i love dead naming things of people who dead name people.

Technically it's both. Only Congress can change the official name, so it'll be DoD probably forever because they can't do anything.

Honestly, I like the DoW. DoD was a fucking lie. We haven't fought a defensive war since The War of 1812 (or, arguably, The Civil War). DoD was just branding to make it sound nicer.

[–] HotDog7@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Only Congress can grant the name change officially. Hegseth can identify how he wants to.

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

I love that none of the media has stuck with Trump's renaming of stuff.

Remember, no fatties, though.
