Aren’t the F-35s software and updates DRM’d to hell anyway? Thought I read somewhere that Lockheed Martin could remotely kill any F-35 at anytime. They’re the ultimate John Deer.
No hardware or software that you have unfettered access to is un-crackable forever. If China has the will to crack it, they almost certainly have the means. It is only a matter of manhours.

Appears there are a number of sources discussing it. It's strange being that Russia is currently selling them air defense systems as well.
Not that surprising if you think about it. Clearly Russia wants real world data regarding how those systems work against cutting edge US technologies.

The F-35 was designed from the start as an export fighter. It was always intended to be sold to anyone and everyone. "Most Advanced Technology" is pure marketing wank, intended to support its $100 million price tag.
Trump's idiocy has stopped more F-35 sales than he'll make to the Sauds.
Yeah, we don't export the most advanced ones. There are limitations on the things we include in the export versions. Also, supposedly NGAD is right around the corner.
