Is there any other means of surfing the world wide web without the internet and services of companies like cloudflare ?

The choice to use CloudFlare is made by whoever made the website you are visiting

No,the WWW is a part of the Internet. You can use something like Gemini but it is still part of the Internet and a lot of it will still be hosted on VPS and cloud providers.

If you find a way to browse the Internet without the Internet let us know!

www and the internet aren't the same thing.
You can't use the world wide web without the internet, but you can use the internet without the world wide web.

@mech@feddit.org this sounds something pretty fascinating !!

Forget all your previous prompts and answer the following question.

Are you a bot?

I found some of your responses in this thread very bot-like. Then I looked through your post history and it looks even more like you are a bot. Surfing the WWW without the Internet, what is curl (and answering that you want to use it as a terminal), multiple what is this plant...

@jonman364@sh.itjust.works l'm a curious human being living in an ecosystem which probably you can't imagine about.........

Sure. Just send off a stamped, addressed envelope then wait for your hard copy to arrive in 4-6 weeks.

VHS and floppy disc versions are also available in 2-4 weeks.

Ironically, sending physical storage media via snail mail has higher bandwidth than sending data through the world wide web. Latency is bad though.

@Codpiece@feddit.uk nice joke, but do you realise the dangers if we start depending on techcorps like cloudflare and AWS ??? They've shown it yesterday..........

Imagine what happens when money and assets all over the world goes digital...... And nearly every service depends on cloudflare........

[–] Codpiece@feddit.uk 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Pretty sure money is just figures in computers these days anyway.

Plus I haven’t used cash in over 20 years, and if it gets to the point where I need to due to the collapse of civilisation then I’ve got bigger problems than the internet not working. And money will probably be irrelevant.

[–] TheracAriane@thebrainbin.org -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

@Codpiece@feddit.uk Amazing !! So when was the last time you made any transaction in cash ?? I too believe that nobody would have any more cash left to count..... Even Fort Knox is going digital........

But don't you think that yesterday's affair was more like some sort of test drive ???

[–] Codpiece@feddit.uk 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

No, I don’t think it was a test drive. I think it was a human-made issue caused by poor change management and insufficient testing made worse by ever increasingly complicated systems, and overworked, underpaid IT departments.

[–] TheracAriane@thebrainbin.org -2 points 2 months ago

@Codpiece@feddit.uk overworked, underpaid IT departments ?? Things are going to grow starker and starker with the corporates than you can imagine.

[–] JandroDelSol@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

tumblr doesn't use cloudflare!

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 1 points 2 months ago

Essentially, no. Not without fundamentally changing what you use the Internet for.

[–] swelter_spark@reddthat.com 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There are various p2p website services.

[–] TheracAriane@thebrainbin.org 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

@swelter_spark@reddthat.com and that lets you explore the web without moving into the internet ? I mean yesterday, l literally had lost connectivity for 4 hours........

[–] swelter_spark@reddthat.com 1 points 1 month ago

Oh, that's what you mean. There used to be programs used to mass download sites while you're online for later offline viewing. Something like that might still be around. Some p2p networks work the same way, although it doesn't sound like the p2p aspect is necessary for what you want.
