A “TERF” stands for “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist.” It refers to a group or ideology within feminism that explicitly excludes transgender women from women’s spaces, advocacy, and recognition, based on the belief that only those assigned female at birth are truly women.
They're also usually racist.

Whenever people make an argument against trans people it's always about hypothetical transgressions that occurred within the confines of their mind.
I wish they put as much work into regulating themselves as they did other people's bodies and sex lives.
Yeah, they're all these hypothetical arguments about perverts in public bathrooms that statistically never happen. FFS, gender neutral bathrooms exist without issues in many places. I remember one particularly stupid argument someone was making about wanting to protect their daughter and I was just like "wait, your argument is that you want to ban yourself from going into the bathroom with her? Did you even think this through? Because even in your fantasy land that doesn't make sense"
Whenever I hear that phrase or concerns about "fairness in sports", I know that person doesn't see me as deserving of safety, comfort, or autonomy. It's an overwhelmingly conservative and male position and it's starting to make me fully dehumanize anyone with that opinion.
Go be concerned about women to your pedophile pastors and child rapist leaders, don't bring that concern to me.

It's nice to see the Lemmy side of the anime community can be friendly after all the experiences I've had with the Reddit anime community.
So, one of the very few things i have in common with my uncle's shitty shitty sister:
We are very very white looking¹ and perceived as¹ cis. We have both been used to villify black men, because we 'might be raped'. It's all to protect us, you see.
We've also both been reasonably pretty by popular standards, and are very very tall. So we both have the experience of being used to demonize trans people and being accused of being trans and harassed on the way out of bathrooms that were securitized under a banner with our faces on it.
And you know, none of this makes either of us feel safe, and nobody seems to care all that much whether we do.
Almost like it was only ever a fucking excuse.
