That's not how any of this works......?

The state and federal government are not combing through the notes and diagnosis codes that I input in your medical record when you were 13 if you go to join the military, let alone a cop or firefighter.

Hell, I can't even go through your previous medical records unless the previous facility you went too uses the same electronic medical records system i do and grants our hospital access.

The only thing that would happen if a provider failed to put down that you were diagnosed with scoliosis is that you would lack medical coverage for scoliosis related care if you needed it.

Also, nobody cares if you had scoliosis as a child if it isn't affecting you as an adult. Hell, the military probably doesn't care if you currently have scoliosis if you can pass the physical test.

Well, I served in a special unit 20 years back and I can guarantee you that uncle sam will not put down money in one's training if there's a risk down the line that an expensive trained asset cannot be utilized for the median length of a career. They have so many perfect applicants to choose from, they're not picking anyone with a spot in their papers

Having scoliosis as a kid will not prohibit you from any activity as a 30-40 year old adult if it isn't prohibiting you from the same activity as an 18 year old.

Most people who are diagnosed with mild pediatric scoliosis naturally grow out of the condition without any effect. The children with curves great enough where it can potentially affect their future performance can be corrected with orthotics solutions like a tlso. Children who present with curves greater than what can be treated with orthotics were never going to have the chance to join the military in the first place.

"What can I do for a living with scoliosis?"

"Sit in a very uncomfortable chair for the next 30 years"

Doctor: "But you don't have bone spurs."

Trump: "Listen, Doc..."

I'm pretty sure NASA does their own independent physicals.
