Didn't Jesus rename most (?) of his disciples ? Likely better examples...

Welcome to /c/Tumblr
All the chaos of Tumblr, without actually going to Tumblr.
Rule 1: Be Civil, Not Cursed
This isn’t your personal call-out post.
- No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
- No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
- Keep it fun and weird, not mean-spirited
Rule 2: No Forbidden Posts
Some things belong in the drafts forever. That means:
- No spam or scams

- No illegal content (don’t make this a federal case)
- NSFW screenshots must be properly tagged
If you see a post that breaks the rules, report it so the mods can handle it. Otherwise just reblog and relax.
A legit genocidal maniac who went blind and had to change his behavior to stay alive and then wrote some letters. They can do it for him.
Okay but if a Christian actually read that shit they'd be an atheist. Happens every time.
you overestimate their reading comprehension
You overestimate their literacy.
Don't worry, that part will improve with practice.
That would require practice.

Splitters!
I read most parts of the book (yeah, its quite rubbish) and I am still christian.
But to explain it: Here in northern Germany the evangelic lutherian church (the big "state"-church) is a big time fighter for the rights of minorities. Fe: they are organizing demonstrations for the LGBTQIA+ szene or hides people in church-asylum to people whom should be deported. Further more they keep the social net for all the people in need running. (AA/AN, Soupkitchen, Special-interest-people, social-networking for old people etc. ... Even Daycare for Kids and hospitals
And the Pastor (Priests(?)) and church officials ive met are all quite nice. They are people who have a deep love for every human and our enviroment. And yeah, even they know that some (some more) parts of the bible didnt age so well :D
So its quite diferent to other parts of the world I assume. Even the catholic church in southern Germany is diferent and not that nice in my opinion. Otherwise i would have left long time ago
Yeah, I haven't really had an encounter with a militant christian ever. The most "extreme" I've encountered was that my best friend in primary school's dad was a pfarrer, and he didn't like him playing nfs u2 because of the "half naked woman on the hood". And they prayed before every meal but like that's not gonna damage a child or hurt anyone.
I still really dislike a lot of what the church is doing here, particularly their involvement in organizations that they fund only in small part but like to impose rules on (such as "you must be religious to work here" - because apparently atheists can't have good morals or something) but in general most christians here feel like they actually follow love your neighbour etc. In general I share a lot of what would be considered christian values here, and so do most christians I've talked to.
Also specifically in the north.
Funny because I just heard a Southern Baptist telling their grandkid, literal phrasing, "that God hates f*gs"
In a Bojangles, the most sacred of places to talk to your kid about your religion.
Only big difference I feel is that he accepts he had a previous name, I know at least one trans person that doesn't want to have any connection to thier previous name
