An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

My doctor was looking over my chart and said oh you're 40, time for your prostate exam.

I replied "well if you want to..."

"Oh it's not that I want to; It's my job"

I had my first one a year ago

Was not prepared to have a scanner stuck up there though.. I've only previously heard of the finger method

The cool thing was that they could tell exactly the size of my prostate.

The doctor said that it was larger than a normal prostate and that something had to be done at some point. The question was not if but when.

I asked when that might be, and they said it depended on when is started causing issues 🤷

If you use disposable gloves you'll always be "clean"

Be wary if you are offered "die große hafenrundfahrt" (grand harbour tour). Sometimes, no ships are involved.

2 tickets, bitte. No, I'm alone. I said what I said.

What age should you start? I know Colonoscopies are now 45 instead of 50.

[–] Cyclist@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Probably 45. They don't really need to do the finger test anymore, the PSA test is just a blood test.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 3 points 8 months ago

Oh! Didn’t know they don’t do it that way anymore.

Well done, I had one about 4 weeks ago

[–] lemmy_at_em@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago
