I don't see the threat. I mean what could he possibly do?

Revoke their broadcasting licenses if they show opposing political ads? Creditably threaten their broadcast licenses if they show opposing political ads? Sue TV stations in civil court and get them to settle to minimize the risk of a 1A damaging ruling if they show opposing political ads?

No way this administration would stoop to this level. There would be record breaking protests.

In 2025 there were a lot of situations where I thought “nah, he can’t do that, they won’t let him get away with it“, but surprise surprise, he’s still president and he still got what he wanted.

The US political establishment has proven itself immune to "record breaking protests" all the way back in the early 2000s.
