Not sure but cold blooded animals have to breath much less so crabs have an easier time holding their breath than warm blooded whales
Do they though? Many whales can hold their breath for an extremely long time
Although it's often not strictly holding their breath so much as holding a massive amount of oxygen in their blood stream
I mean it on an evolutionary scale. Having huge amounts of oxygen in the blood sounds like an adaptation cold blooded animals wouldn't need
Turns out, being really fucking large is a lot harder on land than holding your breath all the time.
