I am not joking, my brother bought a house with a carpeted bathroom. He tore it out, but only after like a year which felt way too long

My friend has a carpeted bathroom as the main in her new house. She’s ripping it out asap.

It’s a nice purple tiled bathroom (hideous, and purple is my color) with gray carpet..

It was for a guy who lost mobility. Carpeting for anti-slip was the best bet.

A friend of mine lived in Scotland for a few months in the late nineties, she said it was common there back then.

Funny thing is, of the 5 flats I rented in the past, two of them actually had carpeted kitchens.
And also the same kind of grey carpet.
Seems to have been a thing at some time, for reasons unknown...

Put a NSFW tag around your post. I'll have trouble sleeping now =/

Interesting side fact:

One of these carpeted kitchens was big enough that it occassionally served in a secondary function as a guest bedroom with an inflatable two-person bed.

Sleep well!

Im old enough to remember the house I grew up in having a carpeted bathroom... The early 80s, man. Our parents were doing all sorts of weird shit. Like carpeting the bathroom, wallpapering coffee tables, and for some weird fucking reason making everything brown.

[–] SidewaysHighways@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

They made everything brown after watching their parents upholstery, and curtains turned brown from cigarette smoke.

i assume lol idk
