I never remember to read user names, I've only very recently turned on people's pictures so I occasionally notice repeats.
I do always see Y around as I have their username flagged because I've had disagreements with them in the past

I don’t think I’ve been here long enough to be recognized.
as @agertudici@sh.itjust.works somebody told me they recognized my rant about applying hospital socks to someone with chf but I think I deleted it in my last round of privacy deletions
I wouldn't know what I'm recognized for, if at all. It could probably be many things. Being nice to someone, being a tool to someone, saying something funny/smart, saying something stupid/ignorant. Y'all tell me 😆 I'm sure they're all correct.

I don't think I've ever had anyone on Lemmy comment on my post history but I have had comments about my username
I honestly don't get what you mean. Like you bump into someone in meatspace and they are like. OMG! your hubertmanne. if so no. and eww.
