Rules (2024-08-30)

  1. This is an English-language community. Comments should be in English. Posts can link to non-English news sources when providing a full-text translation in the post description. Automated translations are fine, as long as they don't overly distort the content.
  2. No links to misinformation or commercial advertising. When you post outdated/historic articles, add the year of publication to the post title. Infographics must include a source and a year of creation; if possible, also provide a link to the source.
  3. Be kind to each other, and argue in good faith. Don't post direct insults nor disrespectful and condescending comments. Don't troll nor incite hatred. Don't look for novel argumentation strategies at Wikipedia's List of fallacies.
  4. No bigotry, sexism, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, dehumanization of minorities, or glorification of National Socialism. We follow German law; don't question the statehood of Israel.
  5. Be the signal, not the noise: Strive to post insightful comments. Add "/s" when you're being sarcastic (and don't use it to break rule no. 3).
  6. If you link to paywalled information, please provide also a link to a freely available archived version. Alternatively, try to find a different source.
  7. Light-hearted content, memes, and posts about your European everyday belong in other communities.
  8. Don't evade bans. If we notice ban evasion, that will result in a permanent ban for all the accounts we can associate with you.
  9. No posts linking to speculative reporting about ongoing events with unclear backgrounds. Please wait at least 12 hours. (E.g., do not post breathless reporting on an ongoing terror attack.)
  10. Always provide context with posts: Don't post uncontextualized images or videos, and don't start discussions without giving some context first.

(This list may get expanded as necessary.)

Posts that link to the following sources will be removed

Unless they're the only sources, please also avoid The Sun, Daily Mail, any "thinktank" type organization, and non-Lemmy social media (incl. Substack). Don't link to Twitter directly, instead use xcancel.com. For Reddit, use old:reddit:com

(Lists may get expanded as necessary.)

Ban lengths, etc.

We will use some leeway to decide whether to remove a comment.

If need be, there are also bans: 3 days for lighter offenses, 7 or 14 days for bigger offenses, and permanent bans for people who don't show any willingness to participate productively. If we think the ban reason is obvious, we may not specifically write to you.

If you want to protest a removal or ban, feel free to write privately to the primary mod account @EuroMod@feddit.org

European far right just declared themselves fascists, and should be declared a terrorist org as a result.

Fascists trying to ban anti-fascists everywhere, what a surprise.

Americas biggest exports these days are fascism and hate.

Of course, with China stopping the import of soy.

[โ€“] Melchior@feddit.org 3 points 1 month ago

And then oil and gas to poison the planet.

[โ€“] kokesh@lemmy.world 44 points 1 month ago

Makes sense actually, why would nazis be over the moon with anti-nazis?

[โ€“] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 40 points 1 month ago

the fascists are winning

[โ€“] DreamAccountant@lemmy.world 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Nazis all over the world back killing, jailing, and torturing all non-fascists.

They're actively trying to kill you. You're sitting on your ass.

[โ€“] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

I wish I was sitting on my ass. I'm too busy working 50-60 hour weeks.

Can anyone convince trump to jump off a ledge to own the libs? Easiest way to get rid of fascists everywhere, since they are such good boys.

[โ€“] Doomsider@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Highly intelligent people like Trump often get headaches. This is because there is so much information stuffed up there it hurts. A lot of people don't know this, but if you shoot yourself in the head in just the right way you can release that pressure.

The liberal media doesn't want you to know you can treat this problem yourself at home. They want you to spend thousands on medical treatment when a bullet is much cheaper.

Many people think this but it is not actually true. It is actually ghosts. Brain ghosts. The worst kind of ghosts.

The correct solution is to drill a large 4" hole in the head and then to just kind of jam an iron rod deep into the hole. Since, as everyone knows, ghosts are magnetic, they'll follow the iron rod to the outside the brain zone and the possessed will be ghost free.

Sounds very free speech. The right love that dont they?

Complete scum The tentacles lead to moscow, with the backing of bejing

[โ€“] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The tentacles typically lead to our domestic owner classes. Russia's tentacles are present too but they're tugging on the large fibers. If you removed the external actors, we'd still end up with fascism attempting to take over as profit growth eventually stalls.

[โ€“] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 1 month ago

beijing is going to suck russia dry of natural resources soon enough.

[โ€“] krigo666@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Simple proof they're a bunch of imbeciles... LOL

By declaring a label to be a terrorist group rather than an actual organisation, you can label anyone as a terrorist, which is in the fascist playbook

I think this is a good thing. If they start this before they've taken power they're likely to get backlash that could curb the movement which relies on its differentiation from the far right of the earlier 20th century. Critically fascism didn't take root in most places it tried to establish itself back then. Perhaps we can help it not take root now in a similar fashion.

Dig a hole.

[โ€“] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

make sense if putin is telling everyone(far right governments to say the same thing. Why do you think PP copies trumps messages verbatim.

[โ€“] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Just lock everyone up who is an official member of antifa. Problem solved

[โ€“] DreamAccountant@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Those in power decide who is antifa and who is not. Not you. They're coming to solve the problem of you, with weapons.

[โ€“] lena 3 points 1 month ago

That would be nobody... or is that the joke?

[โ€“] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

Unfortunately, you need to understand basic logic to finish your sentence. If these people were capable of that, we would not be here.

[โ€“] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

"If i name myself anti fascist, then anyone who criticizes me is a ...."
