While many have praised the upbeat bops on “The Life of a Showgirl,” others have said the tracks lack the kind of lyricism they have come to expect of Swift.

Ah yes, the “lyricism” of modern-day poet Taylor Swift. Who could forget such classic works as “haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate” and “she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts”. Shes basically Chaucer and Keats combined, but even better

It seems to me like you just gonna hate hate hate/s

Jokes aside. Yes it is bland repetitive pop and her fans are weirdly parasocial, but with entertainment, I think there is no point in arguing, and one just has to let people enjoy what they enjoy

I take no issue with people enjoying it, I just think complaining that her lyricism is waining is like complaining that water doesnt taste like it used to. Expecting lyrical prowess from someone famous for writing bland pop lyrics is like expecting a zebra not to have stripes

Sure her early stuff could be considered basic, not that that stopped millions and millions of people connecting with it.

But some of her later albums really surprised me. If you have the time and are interested, Folklore was lyrically interesting and I quite enjoyed "The Last Great American dynasty" specifically.

Leaving aside the billionaire-bashing, which I wholeheartedly agree with, it is nice to see that such a huge and influential fandom seems to genuinely care about “AI” slop.

Taylor swift is a billionaire and deserves the guillotine like all the rest.

Serious question, how does one block Taylor Swift posts from their 'news' feed? Shouldn't this be in the EntertainmentTonight or RegisAndKathyLee communities?

Add a “Taylor swift” filter if you’re on mobile it’ll be in your settings

aye. desktop block settings seem to lack this feature.
