Hear me out: Oedon is described as formless, never appearing directly in the game, but influencing the world through blood and whispers.

The Player is also formless — we never exist in Yharnam ourselves, but instead "inhabit" Hunters across playthroughs.

Oedon = formless / Player = formless

Oedon influences through blood / Player influences by guiding the Hunter’s blood usage (healing, leveling, chalices, etc.)

Oedon doesn’t need a body / the Player doesn’t either — we direct countless Hunters.

From a meta-perspective, could Oedon actually be a stand-in for the Player — the unseen, formless will that drives everything forward?

Taking it further: what if the Moon Presence represents FromSoft/the game director, orchestrating the nightmare, while Oedon represents the Player, the unseen will driving the Hunter?

Could the game itself be commenting on the relationship between creator, player, and in-game characters — the unseen forces behind every action?

I’d love to hear what others think: intentional symbolism, or just a neat coincidence?

Does that make Arianna & Queen Yahrnam getting pregnant with Oedon's child a social commentary by Fromsoftware about the players' gooning over their characters?

Idk.

Maybe?
