Welcome to Risa

All the pleasure of shore leave, none of the holodeck glitches.

Rule 1 — Be Civil, Not KlingonThis is a vacation planet, not the neutral zone.

  • No harassment, brigading, or trolling
  • No bigotry
  • Keep the banter playful, not hostile

Rule 2 — No Prohibited CargoSome things aren’t welcome aboard.

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW memes must be properly tagged

Rule 3 — Keep It TrekPosts should be Star Trek memes or Trek-adjacent humor.

  • Crossovers are fine
  • Low-effort “unrelated” memes may be spaced out the nearest airlock

Rule 4 — Gatekeeping Belongs in a Black Hole
You’re welcome to have your own opinions on what counts as “real” Star Trek but forcing your view on others or pretending it’s the only valid one? That’s not the Starfleet way.
Everyone’s Trek is valid, from TOS purists to Lower Decks shitposters, and you don't get to dictate what is real or not for everyone.

If you see a post that violates the rules, or that doesn't inspire Jamaharon, report it so the mods can handle it.

Otherwise grab a horga’hn, order a Risan Mai Tai, and enjoy your shore leave.

At some point, so many different aliens have infiltrated starfleet admiralty that its a wonder that they dont discover eachother's schemes by accident.

Like that one time a white supremacist cell was entirely composed of Feds from different agencies 😂

Didn't cut anything off. That's Oglaf, and there's a comm for it. !oglaf@midwest.social

I know it’s Oglaf but why cut it off the image / not post the source along? Artists could do with the credit!

Who's cutting anything off the image? That's the exact image I copied.

I didn't post the source because I was in bed, half asleep, and not thinking clearly after scrolling the archive for 20 mins to find the pic I had in mind.

And honestly, given that you knew who the artist was, it's pretty weird that you start an entire discussion about crediting the artist without taking the 2 seconds to state the source for anybody else either.

I know that the writers pivoted to the Borg as *the big bad " enemy, but I'm still surprised they never brought this one back in any capacity. The episode even ended setting it up for more and is a fan favourite.

I was hoping that the big conspiracy ploy 6 in Picard season 3 was building up to their return because it made a tonne of sense, but no it was just the Dominion and somehow the Borg again.

Yeah but have you ever wondered who controls the Borg? Like who really controls the Borg? Yes, bugs. They've always been an important part of IT.

Is this a reference to an episode?

AKA: The One Where Riker Blew that Guy's Head Up.

[–] SurfinBird@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 month ago

Surely they must have needed to give some explanation for why the blew up that dude’s head. The stuff you could get away with in the 80’s, sheesh!
