Try Sway as a Wayland WM.

The best configuration out of it is represented in Manjaro Sway. Try itnin Live mode. Format your usb stick with Ventoy2Disk and it'll be the last time you'll ever format it.

Found an x61 and an x200t at a flea market in Bremen two days ago and let my girlfriend talk me out of this 15€ purchase :D :/ I still have a 1400x1050 panel sitting in the drawer.
