1000mm? sounds expensive, unless f/11 with cheap glass and plastic barrel, but picture clarity says would be otherwise

40-50 year old soviet mirror lens, 70euros used, build like a tank, probably was a tank optic once lol

i see, those can be built compact with little glass, a bit quirky with their ring highlights, but that's your thing, that's another plus

i dont mind the ring highlights, the only issue i have with that lens is that the focus ring is very sensitive, like turn it 5 Degree makes the difference between focusing 30m and focusing 500m away, but maybe that is due to my M42 to E-Mount adapter which basically acts like a tiny macro bellow changing the sensor distance 4cm away from where it should be. The lens has markings on the focus ring, 10m and 200m are 180 Degree away from each other on there, maybe i have to get a smaller adapter to get closer to those numbers....

probably a telephoto lens, so not actually physically as long as its focal distance

[–] FatTony@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Well that's just false advertising. 😠

I did the same math and was like op is rocking the jwst in his dugout

[–] einfach_orangensaft@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

the jwst has a focal lengh of 131.4m not sure if they sell a E-Mount adapter for it tho

I'm glad they let you take that photo from... your prison cell?

Joking, very impressed how clear that text is.

I didn't read the title at first so I thought damn, that's a tall prison.

I think I need a 1000mm lens now.

[–] einfach_orangensaft@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

kleinanzeigen regelt, und solange du keinen autofocus brauchst, sogar recht günstig

[–] bleistift2@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm sure this is some statement piece but idk who charité is

[–] WhiteHotaru@feddit.org 16 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

The Charité is the Hospital of the Humboldt University in Berlin. It is a big name in medical science in Germany. They even made a similar named tv series about the hospital. The building is the so called „Bettenhaus“ (Bed house), build between 1977 and 1982 in the former DDR (east Germany).

It was founded in 1709. Quite some medical history was written there.

If it’s a real question: A hospital in Berlin, Germany. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charit%C3%A9

[–] StarvingMartist@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

Would it not be?

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This makes me wish I could get an aftermarket lens for the camera I bought a few months ago. Only issue is I presume this was probably shot with a professional camera and not an average "family photo" quality camera.

[–] Strawberry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think you're very much underestimating your "family photo" camera. There's lots of consumer grade cameras with lens systems available that will blow your mind

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

For someone who hasn't owned a camera outside of a phone before, it is impressive, but I'm also admittedly a little jealous of stuff like this. All I got is a supposed 15x optical zoom and supposed 12.1 megapixel images.

in fact this picture was taken on a 12 Megapixel camera Sony A7s from 2014
