This pilot makes me want to actually watch the owl house now.

Rules
1. Tag your post by show
Since we don't have a flair system on Lemmy yet, just add "[XX]" where XX is each show's two-letter "code" (aka abbreviation). Knights of Guinevere is [KG], The Gaslight District is [GD], The Amazing Digital Circus is [DC], Murder Drones is [MD], and so on. You can see the full list in the "Episode Guides" above. For crossovers, just add multiple tags like "[MD][DC]". [Meta] is also allowed for “meta-posts” about the community itself and [Other] for anything else. This helps with searching and filtering
2. The Amazing Digital Circus is a place to be enjoyed by all ages
Okay, a little profanity is fine, the internet is 13+, but do keep it tame. Obviously no slurs or hate speech or anything like that. Also no NSFW/adult content.
3. Don't make me tap the signs
Let's be a good fandom. No need to get in fights over what show is better, or ship is superior, or what theory is correct, or anything like that. You don't have to agree with everything posted here and some respectful debate is fine, but don't let it get too heated. Don't like something? Ignore it and move on. Really don't like something? Downvotes to the left, then move on.
4. Acceptable content
Share your fanart! Share your fanfics! Share your out-of-left-field theories and head-canons! This community is open to all content relevant to GLITCH Productions shows, as long as it's SFW. General content about GLITCH or the show's creators, cast, and crew are also acceptable as show-adjacent, but the primary focus should be the shows
Reposting content from elsewhere is allowed, but you MUST credit the original source. Include the (user)name of the original poster in the title and put a link back to the original post in the body of the post.
Of course, the original poster's own rules on sharing must be followed. If a piece of fanart for example has a "do not repost" watermark, you will be asked to replace it with a plain link to the original source.

Do it! The Owl House is excellent though much more wholesome than KoG appears to be.
i knew i would enjoy it the moment i saw the first teaser.
i am looking forward to seeing more because this is, as the kids say, PEAK.
This show has exactly the right combo between whimsical and fuckedupness that I hoped for after seeing the trailer.
Though I really have to question Olivia's judgement with that robot knight. Seems a bit emotional and unstable...

They definitely succeeded in leaving you wanting more!
So much happened within such a short space of time, I think I'm going to need to watch it a few more times just to fully take it all in. Glitch has done an amazing job, from the animation to the world building there's clearly so much potential in this series, I can already envision the HotTopic merch lol!
Also I can watch the Epcot ball get stabbed all day

I started watching the pilot live during the premiere. I finished watching the pilot half an hour after the after the premiere ended. I turned around and immediately started watching again, but even slower this time. It took me 2 hours to watch a 26-minute video twice.
(Admittedly I did get called for a few minutes in the middle there but) that's all just pausing, rewinding, and taking in the art on screen. Examining the motion frame-by-frame. Looking at all the easter eggs in the claw machine. Staring at everyone's eyes looking for some significance (like in the start of The Owl House S03E03). Reading everything on screen.
I found two hidden URLs, and only one of them was a Rick Roll! The other one goes to a secret page on ParkPlanet.net with some more art.
There are some small nits I could pick with the animation, but nothing major. The only thing that was really missing was a reference to Dana's cat Ghost, seen also as Amity's palisman in TOH.
Well done to Dana Terrace, Zach Marcus, John Bailey Owen, and the entire team working on this! I can't wait to watch episode 2!
I love this, but have no need for more plastic toys etc. in my house. Do they not have a Patreon or something where we can donate some funds and support the show?
I was too excited to watch it on my computer so I viewed it on my phone. The screen doesn’t do it justice, it’s so fucking good
I'm still hopeful they'll release a full season; even though they have all the backgrounds and they might be able to re-use from the pilot, I'm sure they'll have to create new ones from scratch for the first (second?) episode and work on the story. So, depending on they're workflow (how digital it is) they'll maybe release the first episode near the end of this month or mid-March, or August if they're doing everything by hand.

^ Lots of javascript on this page so:
Hartman agreed, saying Danny Phantom and Fairly OddParents both consisted of two 11-minute animated sections.
In the end, it would take “about ten months to do.”
That’s from conceiving the script to completion, though, he says.
However he adds “it’s sped up now with flash animation to about six months, but that’s about the time.”
