When I was a youngster in the 90s and into NIN, a friend would keep telling me to listen to Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV and the like. Being rather foolish, I did not, until much later.
Anyway I think this is based on a 2016 cartoon that became an exploitable meme, from an Indonesian series called Tahilalats maybe? The edit I found had the character in the last panel show a Skinny Puppy t-shirt, but I thought Throbbing Gristle made more sense so I updated it. I still like NIN more, and am looking forward to the new album on Friday.
