My gut reaction based on the company he's coming from is to call this a scam, but, I mean, a crypto billionaire is funding Vast, so I guess I'd rather these guys spend their money on space companies than a lot of other things.

Aetherflux will some big technical hurdles to cross and some serious safety concerns, but I'm always glad to see someone try a next generation concept like this.

Transmit to Earth for 30 seconds to a minute during ten-minute passes over a ground receiver.

Wait, they're not even going to use the power in space? Surely this can never be cheaper than Earth-based solar power.

I've seen numbers from those Space AI super computer guys stating why that might be the case. I'm not sure I buy there numbers but at least a few groups are thinking about it.
