Maybe adjust the brightness way down?
Or put a tinted or privacy filter on it?
My reasoning is that I imagine they have telemetry on whether that thing is on/off which is why people grilled you for sabotaging whichever stupid metric they're looking at?
Or do you really have someone on-site that will report you if you don't toast your eyeballs on the corpodrivel?

They didn't give us the remote. The LG they bought doesn't have controls except for a power button.
Or put a tinted or privacy filter on it?
Might get away with this possibly. Good idea.

Correct this is entirely over Ethernet cable and when I turned it off a corpo bootlicker who enforces this shit showed up promptly. Usually Kevin. Fuck Kevin.
Or do you really have someone on-site that will report you if you don't toast your eyeballs on the corpodrivel?
More than one!
Oh my fave part is the 30 port switch laying on angle brackets and a chunk of scrap plywood for this and a single computer. No, they are not level.
They didn't provide the remote for it, but odds are it still supports infrared.
Just gotta find some universal remote or something.
I kinda miss having an IR LED on my phone, that was more subtle than having a bulky remote.
Flipper
Yes, that too, but a phone with an ir led kinda had more plausible deniability.
That all sucks sure but it’s the fact it’s bright and not a static image, but a slideshow. Keeps catching my eye.
I know exactly what you mean by that slideshow distraction.
With that in mind, it is interesting how you've developed a new workflow that requires a whiteboard or cardboard sign right next to your workspace to display your data, isn't it? If that whiteboard/cardboard was missing you'd have to be distracted all day by that TV. However, since you've got this new workflow that requires that whiteboard you can't see that TV at all from your seated position in your desk, can you? Right? RIGHT?
A divider isn't really possible in this small room but i did just find and buy a replacement remote control. I see the infrared sensor is in tact so it's a cheap experiment to dim the screen down to nothing while still technically being on.
I’m just gonna leave this here:

Read that 6 months back! Consider this practice ;)
