A place to ask Canadians questions and get answers. The most obvious questions would be about Canada, but you can ask about pretty much anything; news, current events, society, etc

I don't intend this as an AMA format, but can entertain some. Rules:

  1. Be civil and act in good faith.
  2. No trolling.

Does Nunavut count as English speaking?

Large, fairly recent, sparsely populated, large indigenous population, no roads between communities, tons of islands.

Inuktitut is actually the majority language of Nunavut.

Which is why I ask, point #4 from my link above:

"4. We have four official languages.

While English and French remain our official Federal languages, all signage and government correspondence is also shared in the Inuit languages Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun. Inuktitut is iconic for its use of syllabics instead of the latin alphabet."

Even if you counted it as English speaking, it's not a province 😜
