Have to recommend this one, just because it has been one of my favorites for about 45 years.
This book has it all, heroes, villains, loyalty, espionage, action and even true. Also it has such incredible characters and dialogue.

I saw the movie as a kid and I am still traumatised.
Same, but I also somehow recognized that it was actually a great movie. Looking back it probably had a significant effect on me. Never did go back and watch it as an adult though.
Animation and story are both amazing. Traumatizing for a child, I first saw it at 8yrs old I think, but it stayed with me none the less. I have watched it a couple times as an adult, holds up well.
I have heard that a lot the years. Was it Woundwort’s violence or Garfunkel’s song that traumatized you?:P
For me it was the wire trap.

Slowly getting through this in audiobook form (I tend to only listen when I'm doing chores or something, hence slowly.)

That narrator is great
This is also one of my favourites. It was one of the first big books I read by myself and is probably one of the reasons i still read to this day. Ive read it since and seen the movies, it still holds up and bigwig is still a legend.
I tried to get my hands on some of the original artwork but the ones I liked were to expensive.
Same like Lord of The Rings, I have read Watership Down in it entirety many times and parts of it even more.
I read this book in January, it just kind of fell into my hands. I think it’s a fun perspective to imagine rabbits being somewhat conscious as humans.
They are conscious beings, but still rabbits, which is what I love so much and which sticks the book in the sci-fi genre for me. It's been a few years since I read jt, but that moment when they were crossing the river and one of the very basic rabbits couldn't even remember the crossing not 1 minute later because it was so outside their rabbity existence... Mwah! So good!
Every time I see a rabbit in the evening I think about their siflay.
Adams also wrote some short stories set in the same universe, but they weren't as good as the original book.
He's got some great books. Shardik? Is that the other one with the bear?
I have only read Watership and some of Shardik. Shardik was just bad.
That's fair. The beautiful thing about art is we all get something different from it.
Discovered this in high school.
I think Animalympics is better, tbh.
