"Those young women were my property!" vibes.

He just keeps digging the hole deeper... for anyone with a brain.

[–] pinheadednightmare@lemmy.world 45 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Unfortunately, the “brain” is missing from a lot of people.

[–] lukaro@lemmy.zip 11 points 10 months ago (9 children)

You mean republicans, don’t confuse them with people.

I was thinking this, like wow dude what a way to keep digging deeper. Please keep asking him the same thing on different days and just let him bury himself

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

But there still won't be any consequences no matter how much he incriminates himself. We could find out he's a serial killer and nothing would be done about it

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yet there will be no consequences

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 10 months ago

Yep, they don't even care about hiding it anymore. The Russian concept of vranyo has come to America where the liars know we know they are lying but expect us to nod our heads in agreement anyway.

As Jon Stewart said, the biggest crime trump thinks epstein did was poaching his people, not that they were traficked and raped.

“I told him, I said, listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa. I don’t want him taking people. And he was fine. And then, not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, out of here,” he said, describing Epstein as having “stolen” his spa workers.

Asked point blank if one of them was Giuffre, who died aged 41 by suicide earlier this year, he replied: “I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people.”

“I don’t know. I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people, yeah, he stole her,” Trump added. “And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever.”

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 66 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

That's because Trump thinks raping young women is a normal and unproblematic thing to do.

Hahahahahhaa woah woah woah. Did he just admit further culpability and involvement?

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 17 points 10 months ago

He's never had the honor of further culpability and involvement.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Yeah, so what? It's not like he is ever going to suffer any consequences for it...

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 43 points 10 months ago (1 children)

He's talking about "stealing" someone like they are property, FFS.

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 43 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Aaaand now I'm wondering if Trump's Mar-a-lago club is also a hotspot of sex trafficking where I wasn't before!

[–] porsche13@lemmy.today 24 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Maybe they are telling the truth about the Epstein files being a hoax. Because it’s actually the Trump files.

[–] VeryInterestingTable@jlai.lu 8 points 10 months ago

In before we learn Epstein was just a front for the operations. And the Island actually belonged to Trump.

[–] Ulvain@sh.itjust.works 42 points 10 months ago (5 children)

So, ummm... why did Trump have underaged girls working at his spa in the first place?

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, it's (usually) not sex work, but I'm 100% sure Trump was staffing his spa with sexual appeal in mind.

And if not he'd have no reason to even care that a teenager took a different job. No one gets upset about a teenager being poached because they were so good at doing whatever menial task you entrusted to them.

[–] dmention7@midwest.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Honestly I didn't even think about that part. When I first heard the interview on the radio this morning, I imagined they were talking about experienced massage therapists or something. Nah, they were kids working their first job, not even out of HS.

You're 100% correct that under normal legit circumstances, not even their direct supervisor would give a shit about a 17 year old changing service industry jobs. The fact that Trump not only knew about this, but cared about it to this degree, is very fucking weird.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 3 points 10 months ago

The absolute nicest interpretation I have for this is that Trump knew what Epstein did and was upset that he'd recruit girls at his club. But that means he knew and didn't care before that. And didn't say anything after.

"Epstein and I were certainly not friends! He stole one of my underage victims. . . Do you have any idea how much grooming it takes to persuade a child to fuck fat sweaty old men in a golf club bathroom? Without crying too much? Do you?! I did all that work, she belonged to me, he stole her. We fell out way before he put my name in his files."

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 27 points 10 months ago (2 children)

C,mon America! Find your shame again. Where is your moral outrage? This is greater then Republican vs. Democrat. The world is watching.

[–] HenryDorsett@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

America, from an American point of view, doesn't care if the world is watching. Especially with a Republican admin.

We have a pedophile in chief. We have failing institutions and infrastructure. Our economy is in shambles. People who WANT to work can not find work, at least not sufficient to survive off of.

Third world shit hole indeed, welcome to America! Hopefully you don't have a tan or you're ending up in a foreign jail with no documentation.

[–] btaf45@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

We have a pedophile in chief.

Yep. It's very sad.

Reportedly a lot of his supporters are becoming disillusioned by the whole sex trafficking thing. Like ,what was your first clue but also better late then never?

There's even a theory that a lot of people are using the whole Epstein thing as a offramp

I also kept wondering who are all the staff that kept that pedo island going? From cooks to pilots, and I guess they came from trump and that makes sense. What I wanna know now is where are all those people now? This wasnt a one man operation

[–] Ulvain@sh.itjust.works 22 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They're interviewed in a documentary from a few years ago... And quoted again in the articles posted here yesterday.. clearly some don't ask don't tell mentality folks..

I think it was "Jeffrey Epstein: filthy rich" on Netflix

[–] VinnyDaCat@lemmy.world 24 points 10 months ago (1 children)

These aren't even red flags at this point. It's a blaring siren.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 9 points 10 months ago

And still nothing is going to be done about it

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 23 points 10 months ago (1 children)

republicans are disgusting, worthless filth.

[–] lukaro@lemmy.zip 10 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Why talk so highly of them?

[–] Prethoryn@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

"And by the way she had no complaints about us, as you know." This sounds entirely like there were complaints but also, SHE WAS FUCKING UNDER AGE TRUMP! Come on dude?! Like shut the fuck up. It isn't about complaints towards you it is genuinely about a guy, you knew, that you won't release files on doing shit with your business and you told him to "quit" what did you do to protect your actual employees and these young women.

It is just like, how the fuck is Trump not under investigation is it just shady as hell. If you are a federal agent reading this I just don't know you can't be ashamed of your country.

[–] FanciestPants@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Trump: And so then, four years later, I banned him from my resort.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

I wondered who Epstein would have “poached” that would cause such a falling-out. Now I wish I didn’t know.

[–] Kurious84@lemmings.world 10 points 10 months ago

That's Epstein only crime per trump.

He's not like us!

[–] Pavidus@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Let's pretend for a second that this actually happened, and Trump was actually upset about it. Where's the lawsuit? Trump makes habitual use of the legal system for every grievance he has in the world.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 10 months ago

So, your organization failed to protect its employees from a predator?

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

You cannot posses a person so you cannot steal a person.

Its called kidnapping. Human trafficking.

[–] Petter1@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I personally don’t think Epstein did kill himself… (it is written as fact in the article)

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 6 points 10 months ago

I don't firmly believe that he did or did not kill himself--though I lean towards he did not--but I take great offense to how every news organization reports suicide as fact when it's quite questionable.

It makes sense that he's phrasing his guilt around a complaint like "stealing" employees. Uh huh. Liars always use some truth to hide their lies. I suspect it was a good source of girls for Epstein. I'm sure Trump wasn't aware these girls were stolen to go to the island.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

This defense has got real "I shot the sheriff but I did not shoot the deputy" vibes.
