Major win for Trump the Traitor, devastating loss for the bottom 2/3rds of income earners.

From what I understand. The Executive Branch (trump) is now, according to that bill, NOT accountable to laws, courts, or any judicial process.
He just became a dictator and the constitution is officially …dead.
Because Biden was all powerful and he single handedly destroyed this country so the only way to fix it is to get rid of all political opposition BUT it's still the do nothing Democrats who are poison piling everything and they are gonna cut social security next.
Actual conversation I had about an hour ago.
I mean, that's BEEN his argument all along, this just codifies it... It's not like the Justice Department or the Courts ever told him differently.
And a catastrophic loss for the average US citizen. Welcome to Nazi America, with a well-funded American GeStaPo to keep elections like they should be.
🖕🤬🖕
I hope MAGAts and those who didn't vote a really fucking miserable "independence day"
They're out blowing shit up and drinking heavily, they had a GREAT 4th. 😢
I ate food with friends and family, but it was very much a typical gathering. I dont think anyone said "happy 4th" or anything.
We HAD plans, but then a close friend of my mothers passed away and that put a giant damper on things. :(
Emphysema sucks kids, don't smoke!
Dang, sorry to hear that. Definitely not a fun thing to add to the pile there, huh :(
Major win for Trump as Congress passes 'big, beautiful bill'
And a major loss for the rest of US...
We will be sicker, poorer, have less rights, have less freedoms, have less opportunities... And probably some other things I haven't yet thought of...
All to make the New Age Robber Barons even more obscenely and immorally wealthy.
🤡 🖕 💩 💩
Silver lining?
You're more likely to reach the revolution part of the history cycle faster, and reset the wheel for future generations to also fuck up.
This empire is going to take a few generations to fall. Doubt I'll see a revolution in my life time, but maybe my kids will get to see that silver lining.
Unless you're really old, I wouldn't bet too hard on that. Things tend to happen quickly once they reach a tipping point.
The Arab spring revolutions were not even two years long and a dozen countries countries with 4 rulers being deposed.
I would absolutely bet money that before I die in 30-40 years the US will have fewer states than it currently does.
ICE has 3x the budget of the marines with this bill.
I hate this timeline.
What country has ever failed by spending lavishly on secret police? Oh like most of them that try? Ahh I'm sure it'll work out this time.
The only ice I want to fund is cube.
Tea
Caps
True, I do like an ice cap
Are we still blaming Harambe? Feels accurate.
Whatever dude I give up. I'm taking the accelerationist approach now. Let them crash the fucking country because it's the only way people will have even a tiny chance of learning from this. We've become too comfortable which has lead to complacency and the only way things will improve is if people experience a massive quality of life decrease under this regime.
It's going to be really bad this time, and I was watching the talking heads on the news discounting the CBO report by saying "Naw, naw, it's cool... see it's going to cause economic growth... everything is going to be fine!"
And I'm like "That's a lie, and it was a lie when Reagan said it 45 years ago. It's NEVER ONCE worked out that way."
But nobody in the media is willing to follow up with that question: "So why didn't the growth happen all the other times we tried this?"
Our media is uniquely dog shit. It's one of the problems with having literally fucking everything owned by corporations. If we ever get power again we need to prioritize making shit like fox illegal.
Working as designed. This is the result of media consolidation combined with repealing the fairness doctrine (also a Reaganism).
Now all of the major media outlets are owned by a handful of billionaires and they are allowed, if not encouraged, to bend your opinion to their will.
Burn baby burn. Pedal to the metal.
Thats where I'm at with things. I tried to have hope that we could fix things normally but it's just not possible. If things don't go downhill fast we're gonna get trump or vance being inaugurated in 2029.
I'm losing hope for the future. They're selling merchandise for the fucking concentration camp. Humanity has failed. I almost hope we go extinct, we fucking deserve it
We're witnessing the capitalist version of a runaway diesel engine. It may go really fast but eventually its gonna explode and brother we are close to the explosion.
Fucking treason weasels
Just got this email, waiting for the "leopards eating faces" moment:

"Social Security Applauds Passage of Legislation Providing Historic Tax Relief for Seniors
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is celebrating the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, a landmark piece of legislation that delivers long-awaited tax relief to millions of older Americans.
The bill ensures that nearly 90% of Social Security beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income taxes on their benefits, providing meaningful and immediate relief to seniors who have spent a lifetime contributing to our nation's economy.
“This is a historic step forward for America’s seniors,” said Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano. “For nearly 90 years, Social Security has been a cornerstone of economic security for older Americans. By significantly reducing the tax burden on benefits, this legislation reaffirms President Trump’s promise to protect Social Security and helps ensure that seniors can better enjoy the retirement they’ve earned."
The new law includes a provision that eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits for most beneficiaries, providing relief to individuals and couples. Additionally, it provides an enhanced deduction for taxpayers aged 65 and older, ensuring that retirees can keep more of what they have earned.
Social Security remains committed to providing timely, accurate information to the public and will continue working closely with federal partners to ensure beneficiaries understand how this legislation may affect them."
Yeah just got that one too, fully expecting it to blow up at this point. Also makes me scared that disability benefits weren’t mentioned at all
It's good that social security benefits are no longer taxable, but what's being cut to make up for that lost tax revenue? 🤔 Nobody is asking that question.
